Chapter 50

Right after their discussion about Eren, Hange invited Levi to a small cafe on the edge of the town. The shop was small and only an elderly couple occupied one of the five tables, enjoying their coffee and tea. Levi greatly appreciated the Beta for bringing him to the homey cafe. Since the little shop was at the edge of the town, it was quiet and peaceful being away from the busy body in the central town.

In Levi's opinion, the simple and homey cafe was the odd one out compared to the other establishment in the Shingansina. And he loved it. No fancy signs outside, just a small fence around the flowerbeds, the small birdbath on the corner, and fresh beige paint on the wooden walls.

Upon entering, Levi got hit by the aroma of the coffee, tea, and sweets, all were mixed into this sweet aroma that calmed his nerves and cleared his head. The desserts in the display cases looked amazing, the decor was minimal but pretty and the owner was such a dear, sweet Marco. Every time he smiled, Levi could picture him out with a halo and white feathered wings.

He greeted Levi and Hange with a soft "Welcome" unlike the ones in the brothel where the Omegas would shout the greeting on the top of their lungs.

Levi finds himself smiling back as they approached the counter. Hange, of course, had to ruin the peaceful moment.

"Marco! Good day!" She grinned.

"Good day to you too, Hange," the owner smiled politely.

While Levi cringed at the volume of her voice, he looked back at the two elderly and wanted to apologize for the Beta's behavior but none of them paid her mind and just continued to enjoy their drinks.

"I see that you brought a friend."

Levi straightened and smiled at the freckled face Omega behind the counter. "Hello, my name is Levi. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too. It's nice to see a  new face here from time to time."

"He's Eren's Omega!" Hange supplied with excitement. She stepped back, extended both hands towards Levi, opened her hands, and shook her wrist like she was presenting the raven Omega.

Levi groaned and attempted to hide the blush on his face. "Please. Stop."

Marco giggled. "Better get used to Hange. What can I get for you?"

Levi treated himself with a teapot of Earl Grey tea paired with a small cake while Hange was raving about the caramel coffee and ordered three mugs with a box of chocolates.

Thankfully the Beta finally shut her trap when their food and drinks arrived. She started stuffing her face with chocolate, then drowning herself with the caramel coffee. Levi wanted to criticize her savage way of consuming food but he refrained, as long as Hange shut up for a few minutes.

Levi was pouring himself another cup while Hange finally stopped devouring her food and started eating slowly after she realized how quickly her box of chocolates depleted.

The door opened and Marco greeted the newcomer. "Welcome, Eren."

Levi looked up from his cup and saw his mate. Eren waved at Marco with a small smile before looking at Levi.

"Hey," Levi offered his husband a small smile while watching the brunette Alpha frown, shoulder slumped as he dragged his feet towards Levi like a child who tripped and on the borderline of crying.

Eren whined when he reached the raven Omega. Levi shifted on his seat, he opened his arms and caught his mate as Eren dropped on his knees and fell into the small male's embrace.

The brunette Alpha was saying something on his chest and Levi attempted to calm him down by running his fingertips on his brown hair.

"Shhh, it's okay. I'm here," Levi reassured. He guessed that the talk with Armin didn't end well.
