Chapter 54

It was noon when they finally went back to Shinganshina. The ride back was silent but Levi made sure to make his husband feel better throughout the trip. He would let Eren lean on him and didn't complain of the Alpha weight, giving him soft kisses or simply holding his hands in Titan's reins. They never exchange words but their actions spoke more. Levi did feel guilty, knowing that it was his mother who killed his mate's father.

The raven did apologize several times and Eren just smiled at him and cupped his face. Simply telling the Omega that it was never his fault, that's why he didn't have to apologize, especially for someone else's actions.

Titan stopped in the brothel's stable. Eren helped Levi dismount, the raven's blue-stormy eyes studies the brunette. The Alpha had this gray aura around him, shoulder slumped, eyes glued to the ground, lips hardly lip for a smile. It seems like life was sucked out of his mate.

Levi didn't waste a second and wrapped his arms around him, purring deep in his chest and releasing his scent to calm the Alpha.

Eren sighed and leaned into the raven's hold, the tension in his body and various thoughts in his mind finally disappeared and Levi could feel him relax in the bond. The Alpha might look calm but his thoughts were all over the place that Levi couldn't point out in the bond what the other was thinking, it was too much that it could give Levi a headache.

They stood like that, ignoring the festivities that came from the brothel and people who passed by them to greet Eren. The whole world was nothing but a blur and there was only Eren and Levi existing in peace with each other.

"I love you," Eren croaked weakly, his arms tightened around him.

"I love you too, always," Levi whispered, standing on his toes, he tried to scent mark his Alpha on places where he could reach. Eren sighed contently. Reaching to rake his fingertips in the outlaw's hair, Levi asked. "Feeling better?"

"Yes, thank you." With one more tight squeeze, Eren let go of him and both of them were back to reality.

Eren frowned. "I have to tell my mother..."

Levi looked down at his feet, face in gloom. "I have to send a telegram to the Madhouse to pick up my mother... and let Mikasa know..."

They both inhaled sharply, knowing their next steps were not all rainbows and peaceful meadows. They both knew that delaying would cause more trouble and decided to deal with it. When each task was done, they both silently agreed to lock themselves in their room and heal.

Eren leaned to place a kiss on his lips and whispered. "I'll see you in our room."

"Okay," Levi nodded.

The Alpha first walked him to the station where the raven could send his telegram before going back to the brothel to tell the news to his mother.

Sending a telegram to the madhouse was easy but Levi took a long time choosing his words when sending it to Mikasa. He didn't want his twin sister to worry but also he didn't want to lie, after all, their mother's a murderer now. He did leave the details about Kenny and Kuchel, it's better to not get involved Mikasa with them because things would get complicated.

Once both telegrams were sent, Levi sat out in the station's waiting area. Thankfully, this part of town was quiet enough for Levi to relax.

He didn't want to go inside the loud brothel right now, he needed a moment to gather his bearings and or else he'll end up punching anyone who tries to talk to him. When he reached their room, he just wanted to take a bath with his Alpha, change into the softest clothes and pamper Eren in his nest.
