Chapter 32

Eren felt at peace sleeping with his mate but he was a bit disappointed when he woke up and discovered that his beloved was no longer by his side. He was looking forward to seeing Levi's sleeping face every morning from the very start, it was quite a fright when his routine broke.

The shouts came from the ground floor made Eren jumped out of bed. He immediately knew what's going on and dashed down the stairs without a second breath.

Right there, in the inn's dining area, he witnessed his mate pinning Erwin Smith on the floor with a butter knife aiming at the poor blonde's face. "Alright," Eren nodded. "He did it."

"You fucker! I'm going to kill you!" Levi threatened, holding a butter knife near Erwin's face.

"Levi! Hear me out!" The blonde Alpha begged, despite his size and dynamic, Erwin didn't even defended himself or use his scent to mirror his authority to stop the Omega. Instead, Erwin was fully submitting with his palms up in surrender. "I want to personally apologize for what happened-"

"Yeah right, you bastard!" Levi growled.

"I sincerely apologize, Levi. I didn't mean things go in that direction."

"Really now? The only direction that will likely turn on that scenario was you being shot or my Alpha!"

"Okay, that's enough," Eren stepped in, hooking his arms on the raven's armpits and hoisted him off of Erwin.

Levi didn't protest, instead, he pouted and letting his Alpha carry him away from his target.

"Yeagers," Erwin struggled to get to his feet. "I deeply apologize for what happened." He lowered his head, submitting to the raging Omega and Eren.

"What do you expect will happened?!" Levi mocked, pointing the butter knife on him.

"Levi," Eren warned quietly, placing his hand on the raven's arm to lower his weapon.

"I was planning of talking them out to it. All five bandits looked rather young, the youngest I think was twelve while the eldest seemed seventeen. I was trying to offer them education but the eldest shot me, not letting me finish," Erwin sighed sadly.

The stern look in Levi's face gradually faded into a frown. That only meant that he shot a bunch of brats. A warm hand rest on his shoulder made the raven blinked, craning his neck, Levi saw Eren looking down at him with a small smile.

"I guess that was their first lesson," Eren added, giving Levi a firm hold on the shoulder. Noticing immediately his Omega's guilt, the Alpha tried to soften the blow. True, the bandits were teens but all were not as nice as Erwin expected. Those amateur outlaws were nothing but bullies, taking advantage of this small town because they don't have a sheriff.

Levi shook his head, figuring that Eren was right, those damn brats deserved a fucking lesson. Levi reasoned that it's not like he killed anyone, the landlady did informed him that all of the bandits were treated and even given food.

"I guess?" Erwin puzzled then he smiled, recalling Levi's skills last night. That's what he was going to say when he saw the raven came down from the stairs. It was foolish of him since he forgot to apologize for what had happened to Eren it was until Levi attacked him with a butter knife that he remembered to ask for forgiveness. "By the way Levi, I was amazed by your shooting skills."

"Thanks," Levi held his head high, proud to be able to protect his Alpha.

"The scouts needs a sharpshooter like you."

Eren frowned as he witnessed how Levi's face lighten up at the idea. "Really?"

"Of course, all of your shots were not severe. All of them were healing nicely this morning."

"Of course, I had a good teacher," Levi turned to wink at Eren. Eren gave him a forced smile, still edgy of the idea that his mate will likely lean to the idea of joining the scouts.

Erwin sighed, frowning. "I apologized for what happened again. And I understand... that if you don't want me to join you guys in this journey."

"Hmmm..." Levi zoned at him before looking up at Eren. "We'll think about it."

"Okay," Erwin gave them a genuine smile. "I'll wait here then..."

"Eren, let's go." Levi turned his mate and pointed the tray of breakfast for two on the table. "Can you help me with that?"

"You don't want to eat here?" Eren asked but picked up the tray anyway.

"I liked to stay in our room." Levi shrugged. Taking all the time that he can to be alone with his Alpha.

Upon reaching their room, they silently ate on the floor since the room was not that spacious for a small table. Eren kept stealing glances at his mate while they eat, a bubble of worry in his chest rose. If Levi accepted the offer of joining the scouts, Eren doesn't want to stop the raven but he was sure things will get complicated in the long run if his mate will become a scout.

"If your worried about me joining the scouts," Levi spoke after taking a sip from his water, it was like he can read Eren's mind which was true since they had bonded. "Then worry not. I'm not joining."

Eren put his spoon down. "Why? It was a great opportunity."

"I just thought..." Levi looked down at his plate before turning back to Eren, smiling. "I rather join you. Whatever it is you do. Honestly, it is tempting to join..."

Eren automatically deflated at his Omega's honesty and stared down at his half-eaten plate in a daze.

"But," he felt warm hands cupped his face and gently made him looked up to his mate.

"I rather work in the farm, travel in long roads, and the near future, planning to rob a bank, as long as we are together," Levi leaned forward, placing a soft kiss on the Alpha's lips.

"Really?" Eren smiled, feeling his chest fuzz with delight after hearing those words from his Omega.

"Yes," Levi leaned back and finished his food. "Now, about Erwin Smith."

"Do you want him to join us?"

"Of course not." Levi spit.

Eren nodded silently and finished his meals.

Levi rolled his eyes on his mate. He felt like he was restricting a child from having friends, and Levi hated it when Eren goes silent like that. "Okay," The raven sighed. "He's a good guy alright, I guess he can join us."

"Really?" Eren shyly looked up at his mate.

"Yes, but can we stay in this inn for another night?" Levi whispered when he felt Eren's gaze digging on him, he stuttered. "I-I mean is! We both need time to heal! Your shoulder as well as my ankle... Right?"

"Right," Eren wiggled his eyebrows on him. "Sure, I would like another round of good sleep," he grinned.

Levi huffed and averted his gaze, yeah right, all they've done was sleep. He's sexually frustrated after everything that had happened. If Eren would sleep, Levi has to take action on his own hands. Even if it means raping his husband.
