Wanted

Chapter 35

"Should we rest here?" Eren asked, surveying the area. It's been a peaceful journey but the trio can feel the exhaustion from the dusty road and blazing sun. All of then wanted nothing more than a meal and some good sleep.

"The ground is too uneven." Levi guided Tea Green to ride next Eren.

"Well..." the brunette winced.

"And there are plenty of brushes," Erwin added. "More chances of meeting snakes."

"Okay, not a good spot. Let's look for another area then."

"The sun's setting fast Eren," Levi stated, glancing at the sun. "And can we please not sleep next to groves?" Sleeping under the night sky sounds romantic and a little adventurous but insects were pain in the ass. Especially, the cicadas and their deafening songs.

"I know," Eren noted. "Hey! Look!" Eren pointed at the smoke coming from the little settlers at the distance.

"Travellers?" the raven squinted his eyes at the settlers. Levi figured that it was about a few meters away from the main road.

"Indians," Eren confirmed.

"Indians," Levi and Erwin said with cautions.

"Yes! We can trade some clothes or cakes for shelter!" Eren said with enthusiasm. Pulling the reins of Titan, he guided the horse off the road.

"Wait, Eren." Levi quickly rode next to him.

"Yeah?"

"Are you sure about this? They might be savages..."

"Don't worry Levi, I've been trading back and forth with Indains and trust me, they are not bad as what stories tell."

"Can I interject?" Erwin rode next to them. "I share the same concern with Levi, how can we be sure they won't pull any mischief on us?"

"We'll never know if we don't check it. Come on guys! Trust me!"

Levi and Erwin exchanged glances before nodding.

"Great!"

Flitcking their reins, they all rode to the settlers. Erwin and Levi slowed down their pace when they go up close, only Eren had the guts to kept on going until he was face to face with some of the Indians.

A good number of Indians came out of their tent like houses and checked out the new comers. Levi gulped, as he watched some of them grabbed their spears.

"Hey, guys! Come here!" Eren shouted at them while he dismounted.

Erwin and Levi exchange glances once again. The raven sighed and follow his husband. He rather be stab with a spear with his Alpha than to live with Erwin Smith.

Levi approached the tribe and Erwin followed behind him silently.

Eren helped him dismount before greeting the tribe. "Hello,  my name is Eren and this is my mate, Levi," Eren pulled the stiff Omega next to him and drape his arm on Levi's shoulder. "We are hoping to trade clothes for shelter. Just for one night."

"We don't need clothes," The tall Indian with several ornaments in his neck stated. He looks like the chief of the tribe by the way he stood with authority and power.

"Ah, how about desert? You know like cake?" Eren offered calmly. While Levi was practically pressed on the brunette's side.

"CAKE?!" somebody shouted from the back.

Levi peered at the people and saw an Omega with brown hair with a pony-tail made her way through the crowd. When she was at front, she started talking to the chief with their native language.

Levi eyed the girl. Her hairstyle was indeed modern unlike the other natives that had their hair in braids.

"What's this?"

The three gaped when they saw a bald Beta pushed his away out of the crowd. He was indeed out of place, his skin is white unlike the tan the other Indians had though his skin had patches of sun burn. It was obvious the guy lived in the city or some sort. But he's clothes were like the natives. Moccasins, patched pants and a few ornaments hangs on his neck.

"Hello, my name is Connie," He offered his hand to Eren.

"Oh, hi. I didn't expect ah...." Eren trailed off as he gave Connie hand a quick shake.

"I bonded with Sweet Potato," Connie gestured at the girl with a ponytail.

"Oh," Erwin gaped.

"Yeah, I left the city life just for her," he smiled as he glanced at his Omega.

"Right," The chief finally spoke. "We accept. For one night."

"Yes, just one night," Eren nodded.

The chief said something to Connie and Sweet Potato before leaving along with the others.

"Cake!" Sweet Potato cheered.

"Well, it's been a while," Connie sighed. "Sasha, can you put their horses in the corral? I'll show them their house."

"Yep!"

"Sasha?" Levi asked as they took their important belongs off the horses.

"Ah, yes. I called her Sasha but her native name is Sweet Potato."

Erwin silently follows, eyes scanning the tribe and their homes but he still can't get of his mind was Connie. A city folk who left everything to live here. With his mate. Erwin envied the bald Beta but he had a lot of questions in mind.

"Hey, what are they doing?" Eren stopped walking and saw a bunch of Omegas dance at the field.

"Oh, that? We have this ritual when the moon is full. All Omegas that were newly bonded have to perform a dance for fertility and safe childbearing."

"Ah," Eren nodded and stared down at Levi who was still pressed on his side like a gecko. "Can a visitor join?"

"What?!" Levi hissed.

"Come on Levi, please. Do it for me~" Eren begged.

"Well, it does said all Omegas. I don't see why your mate can't join," Connie shrugged.

"Please Levi," Eren whined.

"I don't know how to dance! And when will be this dance be held?" He turned to Connie.

"Tonight," the bald Beta supplied.

"I won't be able to remember the steps!" He snapped at Eren.

"But I know you can do it Levi!"

"No," Levi immediately turned down.

But Eren didn't stop, even when they are in their tent. Connie and Sweet Potato helped them get settled, sparing then quilts and makeshift pillows.

"Please, Levi. So you'll be safe when you carry our baby in the future," Eren whined like a child.

"Ugh!" Levi gritted his teeth. He doesn't know how to dance and there was so little time to practice with the other Omegas. Levi doesn't want to make a fool of himself.

Eren scooted closer to him, wrapping his arms around the raven hips and hoisted him up until Levi was sitting on his lap. "You love me right?"

Levi gasped as Eren pulled out his puppy dog eyes but this time it was paired with a pout.

"Please?" Eren tilted his head to the side.

Levi breath hitched, he could have sworen he saw Eren with dog ears. He slapped Eren's face and stood off his lap. "Dammit! Okay! Okay! I'm joining the dance!"

"Yey!" Eren cheered, grabbing the pillows and throwing them in the air before standing. "I'm telling Connie!"

"Right," Levi mumbled as he changed into fresh clothes. But once the brunette left,  Levi shook his head, he can't help but smile at how excited Eren was.
