The morning practice ended an hour ago. Due to waking up early everyone was sleepy, wanting nothing more but to hit the hay. However, the studies didn't let them do so. With repetitve yawns and stretches, everyone headed to their class.

Oikawa entered his class with Iwaizumi when he saw Yui standing near his desk waiting for him. Flashing her a sleepy smile, he took a seat. From the corner of his eyes, he watched as she brought out a coffee bottle.

"Here Oikawa, have some coffee."

Although Oikawa didn't seem to mind it, Iwaizumi frowned at her authoritive tone. But then again, he couldn't say anything because of his friend. Oikawa hummed and took a sip only to make a face and put down the bottle instantly.

"What happened now?" That moment Oikawa noticed the change in her behaviour which was a stark contrast to how she acted when they first met. That reminded him of Y/N but he shook off the thought.

"It's too bitter. I can't. Can I have a super sweet flavored one?"

Iwaizumi watched their interactions from afar. How her face contorted in an annoyed expression at his words. She let out an exasperated sigh and shook her head.

"Pickyness will not get you anywhere Oikawa. Just have it. Why are you fussing around so much for a coffee?"

He got irritated at her words. His sleepiness didn't make it easier. But he sighed and cooled down, not wanting to say anything rude to her. As if on cue, their homeroom teacher entered the room. Yui went to her seat which was at the front.

His mind drifted off from the explanation. And once again, he found himself thinking about her much to his dismay. No matter how much he tried to push away the feelings, they seem to make their way to his heart and mind.

It was late in the evening. Y/N was returning from the staff room after helping her homeroom teacher. She was on her way to the gym to collect get belongings only to hear the familiar booming sound of volleyball being smacked on the hard floor.

She caught a glimpse of brown tufts from the window and sighed knowing who was there. Oikawa didn't seem to be aware of her presence. He was too immersed in his whole world to notice his surroundings.

"You are staying here again."

Her soft and sweet voice, which had a tinge of exasperation in it, tore his attention. He swirled a volleyball in his hand, trying to catch his breath after non-stop serving. Several sweat beads trailed down his porcelain white face and his T-shirt was wet with sweat. He walked towards her as she extended a water bottle towards him.

"What are you doing here?"

He sat down beside her. Although they decided to give up on their feelings, their hearts were speding up as they were alone in the gym. She hummed as she packed her bags.

"Tachi-sensei asked me to help her and Ryu had to go home. His brother is running on fever." He hummed in acknowledgement before chugging down the water. From the corner of his eye, he saw her taking out an orange from her bag. She placed one near him to eat. He reluctantly took it, trying to peel it.

"Let me. You don't like peeling oranges," She spoke out before taking the fruit from his hands. She was too enganged in peeling it that she didn't took notice of her words. Be it subconsciously, but it made him happy that she still remembered that.

A silly smile crept upon his face in spite of trying to hide it.

She was about to extend a piece to him when her own words seeped into her mind. She mentally slapped herself for letting her emotions take over her mind. She placed at the peeled fruit at the bench and stood up abruptly. She rubbed off the imaginary dust over her skirt.

"I-I should be going. Ryu must be waiting for me."

Oikawa blinked as she was out of his sight in a second but he still got a glance of her crimson ears. He stared at the piece of oranges in his hand. He closed his eyes and sighed in defeat.

"Why are so cute Y/N?"

Meanwhile in the ground, she leaned against the wall while facepalming and cursed herself for her actions. When it comes to him, she couldn't help but let her heart take over her mind.

"At this rate, it's going to be very difficult."

She slumped down the wall in defeat, digging her face into her arms. Her heart ached as his face flashed in her mind. Her voice was barely a whisper but it still had hurt stirred in it.

"Why is it so unfair?"
