When notorious pirate Gerard Way snatches young and innocent Frank from his tidy planned-out life and deposits him on the infamous pirate ship, The Black Freighter, he is immersed in a world of deception, violence and sin. The thing is though, he knows from the start that it won't be the fighting that destroys him - - it will be the loathing he and Gerard feel for eachother that will tear him apart in the end.
This is some good enemies to lovers trope but pirate edition. I absolutely loved it! There isn't much I didn't like, anything bad I may have to say is just nitpicking and I don't think that's fair for this good of a story. I definitely wish it was longer though.
To be honest, not much happens to move on the plot until quite late in the book and we don't learn the main 'event' or the big dilemma, I guess, until veeery late in the chapters which was definitely infuriating because I just wanted to know what was going on!
The ending wasn't very final, now that I think about it. I think the author meant to write more of the story but then stopped so the story is still tagged as ongoing. The ending it did end up having is kind of unsatisfactory and left a few loose ends that had not been tied but that aside, I enjoyed it a lot.
I don't know what to say in order to not spoil anything. Most of the things I have to say require me to reveal a big part of the plot or even the ending and I don't want to do that since I have a feeling most of y'all would enjoy this story.
So this is gonna be a short review and you should go read it if you haven't already.
