The sunlight seeped through the pale ivory coloured curtains that were slightly see through due to the lack of thickness. The birds were chirping away loudly as the blissful morning started to unfold.
The room April was staying in was small but very cosy and welcoming. The light-washed walls were bare but the dark wooden furniture gave a soft warmth to the living space, whilst a thick comforting rug lay contently in the middle, beneath the small four poster bed.
The Witch stretched her tired muscles as her eyes slowly fluttered open. She delicately climbed out of bed and placed on her thick dressing robe. She slipped on her slippers and made her way downstairs.
Although it was Summer, the rural countryside gave off a chilly breeze, whilst the cottage that was located in the bliss area of Yorkshire could become very nippy to the bare skin.
Making her way downstairs and into the living room she noticed the familiar knitted blanket that was lazily folded over the two seated sofa.
That's when she remembered last nights antics"Good morning" echoed the voice of Remus Lupin who stood with a kind small, gesturing a cup of warm English Breakfast tea towards the young woman in front of him.
"Oh hello, good morning. How are you feeling?" Sweetly spoke April after accepting the steaming drink she took gratefully, whilst yawning slightly.
"I've been better" as he watched her face grow into a more concerns look "but I've felt worse, trust me. You helped a lot last night. I didn't deserve that, not after the way I treated you"
"Don't be silly of course I would have helped you, regardless of what happened between us" she answered kindly. Both their lips turning into a soft smile.
"Come, sit down. I've made breakfast" Remus spoke
"You? You've made breakfast? Since when were you able to cook anything that isn't a sandwich?" chuckled April as she slowly sat down in her designated spot that they both had agreed subconsciously on their own personal seats.
"Well... it's not a sandwich" chuckled Remus giving her a dashing smile "however, I promise it'll be the best toast you have ever tasted"
"Toast?" Asked the young Witch slowly, trying to comprehend how that could be something spectacular.
"Not just any toast I assure you, April. This was always my favourite as a boy. I used to sneak into the kitchens and make this on the regular" Remus placed both plates down in front of them with a rather proud look on his face "One piece of toast. Four fantastic toppings that work tremendously well together"
"There's lemon curd, marmalade, jam and butter, and my favourite of all, chocolate spread" spoke Remus, rather in a trance, staring at his food. Clearly one of his favourites, April thought.
The raven haired girl chuckled slightly at his excited gaze "Go on eat. I can tell your desperate to get your hands on them" she giggled.
"Thank you. You didn't have to do this though" said April
"Please, that's the least I could do. I was an arse" scoffed Remus remembering the way he spoke to her.
"Yes you were" April stated looking down as she started to laugh once seeing how his eyes squinted playfully at her previous comment.
"How about we go for a stroll along the river after we've freshened up" the man said
"Sounds perfect"
After a quick shower, April tugged on a light baby blue coloured sun dress which flowed down past her thighs as she paired it with some strapped white sandals.
