The September sun shone through the thick Gryffindor coloured curtains as the sound of birds and the bristling leaves of the Whomping Willow echoed.
April woke to the sound of light pecking on the window. She groaned as she made her way over, knowing that Liv was still soundlessly sleeping and wouldn't wake so easily.
The witch opened the glass to reveal a familiar, dusky owl which had a letter attached to its legs.
Taking the message from the owl and handing the bird a few treats, she watched it fly off in direction of the dungeons.
Opening the letter, not knowing what to expect she read:
Dear Daughter,
Meet me in my office in 15 minutes. I wish to discuss some matters that need addressing.
All my love,
Father.
Confused at his sudden request she quickly obliged and headed towards the wanted destination.
"Couldn't this have waited. You could have at least allowed me to have a lay in" spoke April when entering her Father's office
"No, it can't wait any longer than what it has already. I wish to discuss Lupin" stated the wizard
"Not this again" groaned his daughter as she dropped down into the chair that sat across from him.
"As my daughter, you have the right to know about my past. You know the basics, but not what happened when I was a student, here at Hogwarts" he said
"What do you mean?" April stated watching as he exhaled a deep sigh
"I wasn't the most popular at school-"
"Obviously" she spoke up, quickly regretting as he shot her a stern look
"I was bullied daily. One of those imbeciles was Remus Lupin" he said
"R-Remus bullied you?! B-but why didn't he say anything?" April stated, her mouth slightly agape, surprised at the fact the kind man she knows would do such a thing.
"Because he is deceiving. He is not who you think he is. Him and his insolent friends harassed me, and once attempted murder" he said rather matter of factly.
"M-murder? H-how? Why would they do that?" Stuttered the brunette
"Lily was also their friend. Closer to one in particular-"
"James Potter. Remus told me about them when I was staying with him" she said softy
"Yes, well. They didn't like the fact that myself and Lily were close. They had once sent me off to the Shrieking Shack... little did I know there was a beast transforming there" said her Father.
"Beast? What are you talking about?"
"Lupin. He's a Werewolf" hissed the wizard
After the confession from her Father, she had quickly removed herself, wanting to hear the rest from a certain wizard.
She made her way to the DADA classroom and instantly knocked on the professor's office door.
Opening the door, stood a groggy Remus who had clearly just woken up from a deep slumber.
"April what are y-"
"Why didn't you tell me?" She sternly said, quite upset over the situation.
"T-tell you?" Stuttered the man, slightly fearful of what she was referring to.
"After our summer and our previous encounters, when were you going to tell me you were a Lycanthrope"
Her statement caused Remus to freeze whilst his limbs started to slightly tremble. He was definitely going to lose her. As well as his job.
"E-er I-I w-we-well"
"Can I come in please?" April sweetly asked, obviously seeing how distressed he had become.
"You-you want to stay?" He asked dumbfoundedly, confused as to why she wasn't running from him
"Of course I want to stay. I don't care about the fact that you're a werewolf. I'm angry that you didn't tell me. I thought you trusted me" she said, whilst entering his office.
"All my life people have left April. I couldn't bare to see you resent me for what I am" truthfully spoke the wolf
"Don't. Please don't. You are no different to anybody else Remus. You are kind, gentle, the most incredible man I have ever met-"
"And every month I turn into a dangerous beast" he said as his eyes started to slowly glaze across
"ONCE A MONTH! That is not YOU. YOU have NO choice Remus" as she reached to cup his cheeks "Do you understand? You can't help who you are. And I am certainly not going to leave you" as she wiped a lone tear that slipped from his eye.
"S-stay... Please" as he pleaded holding her close to him.
Their bodies intertwined together as her hands slowly travelled down to his lean shoulders, then to his chest, making their way round his waist.
"I'm not going anywhere" she whispered as both of their breathing started to quicken.
His hands now firmly placed on her cheeks "I don't care anymore. Nothing can make me stay away" he said whilst shaking his head slightly.
"Kiss me" she breathlessly said as their heart beats quickened at that small request.
And with that, Remus Lupin didn't hesitate to hold back.
Their lips slammed together so desperately. Their tongues fighting for dominance as all the previous built up tension that had been rising had now been released.
Her soft, delicate lips against his rough, plump ones felt like heaven.
Home. That's what it felt like.
After a few minutes they slowly pulled away, still both slightly in a trance, staring at each other in admiration. Just staring. Completely taking in one another.
"No more running"
"No more running" he repeated with a wide smile
"And no more secrets. I need you to be able to trust me, if this is going to work" said stated gently, still holding each other tightly.
"I promise. I trust you darling" he sighed contently
And with that last statement, their lips connected once more.
