It was the morning of the Christmas celebrations and the two best friends were chatting about the upcoming event.
"So you going to take wolf boy to the Ball then?" Liv asked.
"I've got no idea. I'll obviously talk to him and I'm sure we can get at least one dance in somehow, but I'm not entirely sure how we could go together. People would start to ask questions" April answered the blonde as the two girls were heading towards Transfigurations class.
The Yule Ball was a tradition every year which consisted of getting dressed up in some fancy attire, whilst spending the whole night simply dancing and drinking.
Of course the whole convention was strictly no alcohol only. However, the twins and the two girls used to smuggle a flask of Firewhiskey in every year, ever since they could remember.
It was a tradition that the four friends would attend together. Olivia and Fred were always coupled up, as for the same as George and April. They would simply dance the night away whilst making fond memories.
April would always make sure she would get a dance in with her Father, at least one time during the night.
He was always a great dancer.
However, even though Snape and herself weren't necessarily on speaking terms... it was her last year, and she still wanted to keep their tradition.
"Yeah I suppose. Fred has already asked me, we've just colour coordinated our outfits" Liv beamed recalling the fond memory.
"How very cute" the brunette said as she jokingly gagged.
"You're just jealous that you can't parade your love life around" stated Olivia.
April rolled her eyes at her comment and let out a small chuckle. "No, for real though, I'm happy for you. You're good together" she said.
"Thanks mum" mumbled Liv as the two girls began to laugh as they walked through the classroom.
Just before lunch had ended, April made her way in the direction of the Defence classroom and invited herself in once knocking once. She had his lesson next so she thought it was a perfect chance to ask him about the Ball.
"Good afternoon, Professor" she said as he lifted his head from marking papers once hearing her angelic, familiar voice.
"Ah hello, darling. What are you doing here so early?" Remus asked with a large smile as he watched her take a seat in front of his desk.
"Well-" she slowly drawled out, "as you know it's the Yule Ball tonight. I was wondering if we could go... like... together?" She hopefully asked.
"Darling you know we can't do that" he said as her smile slightly faltered.
It wasn't that she was expecting them to go together, but now hearing him actually say it just highlighted how secretive their relationship was.
"At least let me have one dance-"
"-do you realise how risky that is. Snape already has his suspicions-"
"-he knows nothing. He has no proof"
"-HE HIT YOU FOR FUCK'S SAKE APRIL" he boomed rather aggressively as she flinched slightly at the volume.
She stared wide eyed, slightly annoyed at how he had just spoken to her. He shut his eyes as sighed loudly and was about to speak before the class came bustling into the classroom.
Without letting him explain himself, April turned and joined her classmates as they took their seats.
"What the hell just happened?" Liv whispered worriedly as she noticed her friend's downhearted expression.
