Real Life Angel #19 : That I long for something new
Written for Martina
There's but one thing I'd like to do
Take you out to a field of green
Edging a natural forest scene
In a dark night with a starlit sky
A shining moon
The land remaining dry
At that field I'd play guitar
Pass the homage from a star
Upon to her
I'd sing a song ,written by hand
But overflowing with emotion
Where in the unteeming wilderness end
I'd carry a genuine smile
And if that night were a cold one
I'd put my arm around you
Keep you close and sing on
Without the playing of guitar
And I'd hum the notes for the bridge
As I built it up by hand
As if the world had swallowed everything
Like we were the only ones
Who could smile that night
Perfection lies in simple things
There is no other way
To be at one with the world
