CHAPTER 25: Disappeared
AKESIA'S POINT OF VIEW
Pinilit ko. Pinilit ko ang magpakatatag sa harapan nila pero hindi ko pa rin makaya. Ang makita ang mga kaibigan ko na parang nawala ang ilang bahagi ng katauhan nila, ang makita na hindi nila magawang tumawa at ngumiti, ang sakit lang.
Sinubukan ko rin ngumiti at tumawa but I still end up being in pain like them. Nang sabihin sa akin ni Miss Chiaka ang lahat, I felt like I am dead inside. Still, I have to be strong since there are people who would lean on me. Hindi pa rin ako pwedeng maging mahina, kapag naging mahina ako, magiging mahina rin sila.
I don't want that to happen so I have to say that I am okay even though I'm not.
"Akesia?" Napalingon ako sa tumawag sa akin and I saw a group of freshmen.
Lima sila. Tatlong babae at dalawang lalaki.
"Hello," I said flatly.
I wanted to smile, I really do. But, if I did, my heart would be in pain.
"It's really you!" another girl explained. "Ah, sorry for the late introduction. I'm Jobelle, and these are my friends Riana, Ariane, James, and Loui."
I wave my hand, "Hello," still couldn't smile.
They were surprised but then it became something along the line of pity. I don't want someone to pity me but what could I do? Hindi ko na rin naman mararamdaman ang nararamdaman nila.
"So, it's true?" Jobelle asked.
I nod my head, "It is, I'm sorry for not being able to feel joy after meeting you all. Actually, I really want to smile but it will pain me if I did. I hope it's okay," I said.
Agaran naman silang umiling.
"No, okay lang sa amin iyon. Besides, alam naman namin kung ano ang pinagdaraanan ninyo ngayon," sambit naman ni Riana.
"Yeah, us, the Verdant Ellipse sophomore can't smile or laugh for the mean time. Ah, we just hope we can still find the right thing for this issue," I said to them and looked at them. "Right, looking at the five of you, you didn't call me for nothing, right?" I asked.
They smiled at me specially the three girls, "Yes, we meet sunshine and the other, those kids you saved before. They all worried when they heard about you, they asked us if we could get in touch with any of you for any information," Ariane said while smiling.
"They even gave us a payment for this. Really, those kids are so independent," James added.
