Tack and I drove separately to school. I hated the fact we could not be open with our relationship. I knew that I needed to let nothing different show in my face. But I was scared Dhampir was coming. My parents could be in danger and I didn't know who I could trust. I was stressed and I knew it would show. Not to mention my new look maybe that would be enough to distract from what was going on in my head.

I got out of my car and looked around. Everyone was staring at me. This didn't make me feel any better.

'Tack I don't know if I can do this everyone is staring at me.' I tried to see if he would be listening to me.

'Cherry you don't look the same people may not even recognize you. They may think you are new to the school. Play with that walk with confidence. You look amazing, so show that you know it.'

'Thank you, my love.'

'We will be together soon.'

'Okay.'

I grabbed my bag out of the back seat of my car and started walking to the school. Everyone watched as I passed I held my head up and walked by. I didn't look at anyone. But I could see guys mouths dropping and girls giving me the stink eye. I walked up to Rachel, I knew she would have questions about my weekend.

"Hi Rachel what's going on?" I smiled.

"Do I know you?" She was so rude, I almost screamed at her.

"It's me Cherry."

"Oh my god! Look at you." She was almost like she used to be when we were friends. "What's with the makeover?"  And now she was back.

"I was tired of my short black hair so I got extensions, and changed the color. I do that all the time. What is the big deal?" She really pissed me off sometimes.

"You just look very different I didn't recognize you at all. Where did you get that outfit I have never seen anything like it?" Her roller coaster personality was giving me motion sickness.

I was wearing a red and black skirt that went just above my knees and knee high stockings. My top was long sleeved and very old fashioned Gothic looking. It was a corset with frilly lace around my neck and around the sheer bell sleeves.

"Oh well my aunt took me shopping and she is really good at dress making so she made some alterations." I played with a ribbon on my shirt.

"Oh well it suits you perfectly. I think it is the most you outfit I have ever seen you were."

"Well thanks, I guess."

"Okay so how was your trip?"

"Good my aunt is fun and like I said before she is good at dress making so we sewed a lot."

"Oh well is that all?"

"Yeah pretty much. Just a relaxing weekend."

"Hum ... You just seem different. There is something in your eyes. I can't place it but, I will, that's my job." She got a strange look in her eyes, a mix of frustration and anger.

"What do you mean your job?" I had a bad feeling.

"Oh... Well... You know the best friend's job... You know, finding out what is wrong with their friends and stuff like that." She looked away with a nervous look in her face. She looked around almost like she was scared someone was watching her.

"Rachel, are you okay?"

"No... I mean yes I'm fine."

"You look scared it something going on?" I decided to turn the tables on her and start prying into her life, like she was doing to me.
