Chapter 8.4

"It's time to leave for the art show." Jock said.

"I almost forgot I will be down in just a minute."

I quickly changed into a dress similar to the one in my piece. With my new hair color and cut I looked even more like the girl in my picture.

We arrived at the art show and stood by our pieces as the judges walked by. I kept sneaking glances at Tack. I'm just going to say he looked so hot. I art show was great I won first place and Tack won second.

"That was fun don't you thing Henry?" Serena said on our drive home.

"Yes quite you are truly talented Cherry." Henry said.

"Thank you."

"How about we go out around town this weekend Cherry? We could go to the mall or go see a movie."

"That sounds great, that will take my mind off things for a while."

I walked up to my room and changed into my pj's and crawled into bed. I looked at the clock it was almost ten. I rolled over and closed my eyes. Things were going to be okay I could feel it.

We got up early Sunday and all of us went to the mall. We walked around the mall for a while looking at a few stores having a great time, but I didn't last. I saw Rachel off in the distance, I hoped she didn't see me, I was not my lucky day.

"Cherry! Hi!" The fakeness in her voice was sickening. "Cherry I have been trying to call you all day. Is this your aunt and uncle? Hi Jock."

"Yes this is my aunt Serena and my uncle Henry. This is Rachel." Jock gave Serena and Henry a look the I knew meant 'Watch her she might be trouble.' That they returned.

"It is nice to meet you Rachel, Cherry has told us about you. You have been friends with her for many years right."

"Yes we are best friends." Rachel said with a fake smile.

She was up to something but I didn't know what maybe she was a spy. She was trying to flirt with Jock but he was not even interested.

"Dad why don't we leave the girl to shop and go to the sports store." Jock said. "We can meet them at the restaurant later."

"That sounds good." Serena said.

"Are you sure?" I asked Jock was suppose to be my body guard why did he want to leave me with Rachel?

"Yeah its fine we will see you later." Jock ensured me. He must be planning on saying close but leaving it open to get information about Rachel.

"So Rachel What do your parents do?" Serena was starting to get what information she could.

"My dad is a doctor in town and my mom works at the beauty salon. Where are you from? The news around town is that you came from Europe. I have always wanted to go to Europe. What part are you from?"

"England but we traveled to Paris quite often and Italy. So we had small apartments but our home was in England."

"Oh Cherry had never mentioned she had relatives in Europe."

"When we moved to Europe we lost contact with most of the family so I am sure her parents didn't say much about us."

"They did a long time ago but they told me that they knew it was hard to keep in touch." I tried to add to the massive lie.

"Oh well its cool that you had family in Europe I wish you would have told me. Hey Cherry can I talk to you for a second?"

I looked at Serena she gave me a quick wink.
