Chapter 7.2 Blood

Sleeping was not easy. I took a long warm bath and then got into bed. Sleep was as far away from me as Tack was. Unreachable, I just couldn't put my arms around it.

I woke up many times during the night every small sound woke me and I would wake up crying. It was like I was crying in my sleep. I fell asleep crying and I woke up crying. My eyes hurt and I had a headache. I got up and walked downstairs to the kitchen and go some Tylenol. The house was creepy I jumped at every sound and ended up running back up to my room and locking the door. I jumped back into bed and covered my head with my blankets. I was crying again, I was so scared and I needed Tack so badly.

I reached for my cell phone and scrolled until I found Evelin's number and dialed. She answered right away.

"Cherry is something wrong?" I could hear the worry in her voice, but I knew she knew there was nothing horribly wrong. She would have seen it.

"I... I... I'm having a hard night I'm... so scared... I'm jumping at everything. I can't do this much longer." I struggled to talk.

"I'm so sorry dear. Hold on a minute."

She had put the phone down and I heard her walk away and then back.

"Cherry my Love?" It was Tack, my heart sang with joy and I felt instantly better.

"T..." I began to say his name, but stopped I remembered I was being watched. "I am so glad to hear your voice." I whispered.

"Love I am so sorry you are scared please trust me that you are safe tonight you are being watched by some very good people. They will not let anything happen to you. We are arranging for your protectors to arrive tomorrow. Do you remember me telling you about Jock?"

"Yes he lives in Europe right?"

"Yes he and his family will arrive tomorrow morning to be with you they are coming as distant lost relatives. Their names are Serena and Henry Duke. They will take care of you and protect you until we can be back together.

"I don't want to be away from you." A tear escaped from my eye and the floodgates opened.

"Hold on a minute my love."

I heard him set the phone down and walk away. He was talking to someone, but I didn't know who. I tried to listen as hard as I could to what he was saying. He was talking to his mother, but he was talking so low I couldn't hear what he was saying. All I was able to make out was Evelin saying 'It might work'. What might work?

"Love we are going to try to open a few doors around town and even some around your neighborhood I am going to open one in your room and come to you with so many doors opening it will be hard for the killers to figure out where they are."

"Can I come home?"

"No Love I will come to you. I will be stuck at your house until you leave for school, then I will sneak away."

"But I'm not going to school tomorrow."

"I know I was talking about the next day."

I smiled I was going to be with Tack all day locked in my room. My room, I remembered what Tack had told me about male vampires entering a girl's room. "Tack will you come to my room tonight?"

"Yes my love."

"When will you be here?"

"In a few minutes watch for the doorway to open. I will see you soon."

"Bye." I hung up the phone, I could hardly keep myself from smiling. Then, I remembered I still needed to call my mom. I pulled back out my phone and scrolled to her number. She answered on the third ring.
