Beginning Immortal Life

POV: Kai

I woke up surrounded by my dead siblings. My entire body ached and everything felt bright. Thankfully, however, it was still dark out. I stood up and held my hand to my mouth. My teeth ached more than the rest of my body which I guess was to be expected. Besides my physical changes, I realized once I got to the main roads that I heard everything much clearer than before. The cars racing by sounded like they were directly next to my ear and the family having dinner at a restaurant on the corner sounded as if they were speaking next to me. Everything was clearer; magnified.

I continued walking down the road and passed a woman who was on her weird blood thing. What Sienna had gotten in the prison world. Not only had my sense of hearing heightened, so had my sense of smell. As she walked by me the smell of her blood blew past me and I felt veins crawl up under my eyes and my fangs come out. It hurt having teeth come out so quickly and I groaned but the pain wasn't enough to stop me from going after the bleeding woman. It was probably smart to feed before seeing Sienna anyway. I wouldn't forgive myself if I lost control and hurt her.

I vamp ran to the woman and fell on top of her. I didn't mean to run that fast. This is definitely going to take getting used to. I stood up and got off her. "Watch where you're going." She spit out angrily.

"Just for that attitude, I'm going to make this hurt." She stood up and I looked into her eyes trying to compel her. "You're going to come with me." She looked at me angrier and like I was insane.

"Like hell I am!" She took a step back. Well, that obviously didn't work. I tried again.

"You are coming with me." I said it more nonchalant than convincing trying to make it seem like this was all normal and then it worked. I had felt my eyes grow more sensitive to light and then go back to normal; probably from my pupils changing sizes. Or maybe that whole eye-changing thing was a myth. I honestly don't know much about vampires.

She nodded and we walked into an alley at the back of the restaurant. I quickly pushed her against the wall, sunk my teeth into her neck, and began to feed. It felt amazing, the blood gushing into my mouth sending all my nerves into a frenzy. Before I knew it she was dead but I needed more. I compelled another person, a young man this time, and went through the same process as I had with the woman.

When he was dead I stared at their lifeless bodies and I couldn't help but be attracted to the man. If he wouldn't have been dead, my feelings probably would've been stronger. I had never been attracted to another man until today though. Must be a trait I picked up from Luke when we merged. I rolled my eyes because, although I didn't really mind being bisexual, I didn't like that it was a part of him in me.

Thinking about Luke brought tears to my eyes which I quickly wiped away. I slapped myself and it reminded me of when Sienna had hit herself in the cave. Now I understand why she did it. It was frustrating to care for something you shouldn't. Get it together Kai. Don't let him take over. I rolled my eyes in frustration. "Phesmatos Incendia" I lit the bodies on fire to cover my tracks and began heading to Sienna's house.

POV: Sienna

I have stayed up awaiting his return. As time passed my trust and hope in him was fading but the polaroid helped. I just couldn't think he would leave me for no reason and after he said he loved me. I had to believe him. Around one A.M I fell asleep leaning against my unlocked window. The sun was slowly rising when my head fell from the now opening window to the window sill. But before it could hit a big rough hand caught my head. I laid down in my bed knowing just by the touch of his hand that it was Kai and he climbed in through the window. He closed the curtains quickly and shook me. "I need your help." He whispered.

"Nope." He sighed and laid next to me.

"I'm sorry I left you with no explanation okay. But I really need help." He kissed my nose and looked at me pleadingly. However, I didn't budge.

"Hmmm nope. Answers first, then I'll help. And you have to promise to take me with you this time." I whisper and he rolled his eyes impatiently.

"Fine, I went to merge with my sister but instead my brother Luke showed up and I merged with him then after I won I killed myself to turn into a vampire and kill the rest of my coven, happy? Now please help me!" He pleaded desperately and my jaw dropped.

"You could've died ! And I would've never even known! Actually, you did die! Now I'm sure I look like a nice slice of pizza don't I." Internally I really hoped he would say no. But he is a vampire now, this could change everything between us.

"Eh, more like a delicious little chicken nugget." He teased and licked my cheek playfully. I giggled.

"You're disgusting." I joked. "And don't think I'm not furious with you for killing my friends but-" I sighed. "If they really abused you then I understand. I just don't get why you had to murder them. That's murder Kai, do you even understand how serious that is?" He shrugged.

"I like it. Not my first rodeo with murder. I just finished what I started that's all."

"You- liked killing.." I pushed away a little feeling uncomfortable with the topic.

"Yes- but- I would never hurt you." I shook my head.

"We'll talk about this later. What do you need my help with?" He held his hand up to the sun and it began to burn.

"I just need a ring. I know the spell and now that I am a vampire, I won't need to siphon from you anymore. I can siphon from my never-ending supply." He reached over me and put on a pair of sunglasses playfully. I giggled again. He was clearly in a good mood and although I was mad at him, I couldn't help but loosen up a bit with his adorable, dorky personality. I stood up and went to my dresser looking through doors until I found a perfect silver ring that had always fit big on me. It had the stone Lapis Lazuli which is what we needed and small designs of silver branches with thorns on its sides. I walked over and handed it to him.

"Here, this should work." He tried it on and it fit perfectly. He smiled softly and cupped it in his hands.

"I love it, baby." He kissed my cheek and I blushed. He chanted quietly and then put the ring back on. He stretched his hand out into the sun and this time he didn't burn. "Perfect." He smiled and I smiled back.

"Now, can we PLEASE get out of here!" I said still whispering. He nodded. And began to climb out the window as I put pillows where my body should be so my sister would take longer to notice I was gone.

"Come on Rapunzel, no more towers for you." I laughed a little.

"How do you even know that movie?" He helped me out of my window and we walked down the street peacefully.

"I may or may not have slept in a random person's house. And that may or may not have been the only movie they had." I did a facepalm and shook my head.

"You really are insane aren't you." I held his hand and he pulled me closer.

"You have no idea, princess." Clearly, he had liked the movie and luckily I liked the nickname. We continued walking down the street filling each other in on what the other had missed. I felt complete again; with my other half that had been separated from me for too long.
