I look up. Black Metal! Where's Nya? What a good brother I turne out to be, I completely forgot about her. I walk in to the bounty and after some time of looking in all the rooms I begin to panic. I run to the main deck and lean over the rail, "Has any one seen Nay?!" I shout to them.
Misako looks down, "Kai I'm so sorry..."
Jay grabs Misako by the shoulders and shakes her as he asks, "What happened to my Nya?!!" I really need to get over that fact that Jay is dating my sis.
Lloyd pulls Jay away from his mom. "Dude. Calm down."
"She's my...my..."Jay sighs and looks at the sand.
I swing over the rail and land on the sand, I walk over to Jay and rest my hand on his shoulder. "And she's my sister. We'll find her I know we will."
"First lets deal with the problem at hand." Cole tips his head to Leray.
Sensei nods. "Bring her to my meditation room." He walks in to the bounty with Misako fallowing and Zane carrying his sister.
"You're not going to help?" Lloyd looks at Leray/Zane's father.
"No I'd be more of a problem then a helper." His face is strait and solemn as he stares after his adopted daughter.
Zane comes out of the bounty and sits on the sand staring out over the ocean. "The bruise covers most of her back, it isn't life threatening unless she fights."
"Good luck at stopping her." Lloyd mutters. Cole tosses the quiver and bow on to the remands of the broken table. And we make our way inside.
~~The next day~~
After a quick breakfast I walk outside to see Leray siting at the top of a tree at the edge of the forest, deep in thought. Her chestnut-brown hair turned golden by the sunrise, a light breeze sweeps in and makes Leray's hair fall in a halo around her head. The sunrise disappears as the sun climes higher in the sky and Leray's hair is no longer gold. Could she be...?
"Kai! I-I need to tell you something." Leray shouts at me as she climes down the tree. It must be bad because I don't think she is one to stutter.
~~~Leray P.O.V.~~~
I swiftly scale down to the bottom of the tree stopping half way to snap a strong young branch off the tree for my new bow. I jump down the rest of the way and walk over to Kai and Lloyd.
"Woo. What are you going to do with that?" Kai takes a step back.
"It's for my bow." I tell him, I sigh.
"What is it?" Kai asks.
"Your sister. She's been poisoned with black magic." I don't know how to say this to Kai, but as soon as I do his face falls and he sinks to his knees.
"Please, please tell me there is a way to save or heal her." He begs me.
I kneel by him and rest my hand on his shoulder. "There is now known cure." Kai sobs and I let him cry on my shoulder even thou it hurts. I feel so guilty, like it is my fault.
When he stands he looks embarrassed. "I...er...Thank you...sorry."
"Don't mention it." I look him in the eye, "I mean it." I lift my hand up to him.
"What?"
"Well help me up." Kai takes my hand and pulls me to my feet. I thank him and walk to the main deck and sit on the railing. Pulling a dagger I begin to shape the stick in to a bow. Cole walks on to the main deck with Zane and Jay behind him.
"You're ok!" Zane says.
"It was scary to see you like that." Jay whispers.
"I was in a kind of magic trance. Not only so that I live but I now understand things that I never did before."
"Like what?" Cole asks. I rap him on the back of his head with the beginnings of my bow.
"That is for calling me a girl. And I would rather keep other things to myself." I turn my head to Jay. "Kai has something to tell you." I point to Kai who is sitting on the beach staring out over the water. Jay nods and leaps over the rail, running over to Kai.
Lloyd walks over and leans on the rail next to me. Zane opens his mouth to say something but Cole drags him away. Saying, "Let's leave the love birds alone."
I turn to Lloyd, "My I?" I hold up my dagger. Lloyd nods and hurtle it at Cole. The blade imbeds in the wall of the bounty, only a hair away from decapitating him.
"Point taken...... Literally." Cole said as he walked around the dagger in a wide arc.
I pull another dagger and begin worked on my bow again. "Lloyd I found out I was wrong about dying if I love you."
Lloyd's eyes widen. "Really? What does it really mean?"
"The Over Lord sent me on a mission to find the one who was destined to destroy him, though I was told not to engage in battle because the person would kill me if I did. When i got knocked out, my mind changed that to if I loved that person i would die." I look at him and I finally love him back with all my heart.
