~~Mean while~~
~~~Sensei Wu P.O.V.~~~
I watch my students and Zane’s sister run in to the forest. There is more to her than meets the eye. I look at my nephew. He is watching them disappear. He really wants to go and fight, I can tell.
“Let’s get to work!” Zane’s father is excited.
Lloyd turns around. “On what? Mr. um… what’s your name?”
“Oh you can just call me father. I don’t care.” He says cheerfully. “We can get to work on vehicles that can give us a winning chance. Have any scrap metal?” We begin to look around the bounty for scrap metal. Soon we have made a pile of it on the sand. Father sits down and begins to make blue prints. He sends me to get stream water. When I return I see the skeleton of a car-thing.
“Uncle, can you help me with this?” Lloyd calls to me. I set down the buckets of water and walk over to him. He is holding down a piece of metal with one hand and with the other try in to screw it in to place. He hands me the screw driver.
“No I’m am much too old to do that.” I say as I push it away. He shrugs. I hold the metal and he screws it in to place. As we cover the frame I happen to look up and see Misako and Nya helping father make the engine.
“Lloyd,” Nya calls. “Help me carry this.”
“Coming!” He tells Nya. He picks up one end of the engine, Nya takes the other and they place it in the front of the car-thing.
“Light her up!” father calls.
Nya hops in to the car-thing and then say to us, “No steering wheel.”
“Oh… let’s get started on that then.” Father says. He and Nya start adding on gadgets, to the car-thing. While Misako and I have a cup of tea, Lloyd fishes out some paint from the bounty and starts to painting the car-thing.
Soon Nya starts working on something ells. Wwhen we asked her what it is she just says, “It’s a surprise.” When she finishes she places it in the back of the car-thing.
“Can you get two more buckets of stream water?” father asks me, I nod. He turns to the car-thing and says “I think that will do it.”
I walk into the shadowy forest, keeping an eye out for Stone Warriors or as Leray calls them, Walking Stone men. I reach the stream and stoop under a rotting log. One end is supported by a stone. I kneel down and scoop water in to the buckets. I look up, see a yellow butterfly and watch it for a minute. But that is my mistake.
“Gu-ta gurr.” I whip my head around. Then I see the Walking Stone’s in their own vehicle of some sort. I hid behind the log. They drive away. I give out a sigh of relief and pick up the buckets. I begin to walk back to the camp. “Gu!” Out of the brush comes a Walking Stone man, he swings his sword. Instinctively I swing my right arm up to bloke his blow. Oops. In my hand is a bucket of water not my bamboo staff. Water drenches us both. A blast of green light knocks the Walking Stone man of his feet and in to a tree. My nephew comes running out of the trees and freezes the Walking Stone man.
Lloyd turns to me and I say “I thought you hadn’t mastered that yet.”
He shrugs, “I wanted to surprise Zane.” Zane is in charge of helping Lloyd master his ice power. Like Kia is in charge of teaching him to learn his fire power. Jay teaches him lightening. And Cole teaches him earth. “Come on.” He says gesturing to the camp I walk with him back to camp.
When we get back I marvel at the car-thing. The front is a cone shaped grill, the top is glass and the sides have painted flames. The inside is full of different switches and levers. It is long with sets for all of us. I here rustling in the bushes in turn around to see my students and Leray rushing out.
