The next day Sophie spent her morning alone. Cho left the dorm early to study in the library, and Sophie spent the morning in bed. Something didn't feel right, but she couldn't quite place what was wrong. Her stomach felt heavy and she couldn't find the energy to peel herself away from her bed.Once the afternoon arrived she heard a light knock at her door.
"Come in." She spoke softly.
Fred entered the dorm wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt. His hair was messy and he had bright purple bags under her eyes. He approached her bed and collapsed beside her.
"Are you hungover as well?" Fred asked while rubbing his head. Sophie didn't want to lie. She wanted to tell him that something was wrong, but she didn't have the strength to confront him yet.
"Yeah. I think so." Sophie replied quietly.
"You disappeared last night. Where'd you sneak off to?" Fred asked positioning himself so his head was on her chest and he was looking up at her through his ginger lashes.
"Oh I just turned in early. Didn't feel well." Sophie lied as she began to stroke Fred's hair.
Fred closed his eyes and his breathing grew heavy.
The afternoon passed and Sophie watched the sun set through her bedroom window as Fred slept deeply on her chest.
The dormitory door creaked open and Cho slipped inside.
"Oh!" Cho stopped when she saw Fred in Sophie's bed. "Should I come back later?" Cho whispered while she nervously shuffled her feet.
"Oh no. No need. I'm sure he'll wake up soon. Thanks though." Sophie smiled a closed grin.
Cho smiled and headed for the bathroom. She closed the door behind her leaving Sophie and Fred alone once again.
Sophie began to lightly shake Fred's shoulders. He began to twitch and shift as he regained consciousness.
"Bloody hell. How long was I out?" He groaned groggily.
"A few hours. All afternoon actually." Sophie said sweeping a strand of hair out of Fred's eyes.
"Thanks for letting me sleep. I just really needed to get over that hangover." Fred began to sit up until his legs were over the edge of the bed and his hands were on either side of him.
"Anytime." Sophie said no longer watching Fred.
Fred turned to look at Sophie. She continued to gaze the opposite direction of him. Her expression was blank. "You alright?" He asked as his eyebrows formed a concerned frown.
"Never better." She said pressing her lips into a thin smile.
Fred grunted in acknowledgment and began to hoist himself up from the bed. A large yawn erupted from his mouth as he lifted his arms above his head to stretch.
"Well love, I'm going to head to my dorm. I'll see you tomorrow." He leaned down and placed a kiss on her forehead.
"Could we maybe spend some time together tomorrow evening? After class?" Sophie asked.
"Of course." Fred smile and squeezed her hand before quickly leaving her dorm.
The bathroom door creaked open and Cho was now in her blue and silver striped pajamas.
"Did he leave?" She asked climbing into her own bed.
"Yeah. Are you going to bed now?" Sophie asked heading to the bathroom.
"Yes ma'am." Cho dimmed the lights with a quick flick of her wand. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight." Sophie returned as she shut herself in the bathroom.
