Draco quietly opened the door to his dorm and slid in. The room was dark. He carefully removed his shoes, trying not to make any noise. He changed out of his uniform and peeled back the sheets to his bed. He laid down, closed the curtains around his four poster and sighed. It was already past midnight and Theo and Blaise were asleep. He closed his eyes, but opened them quickly when the curtain to his bed opened and Theo climbed in.
"Muffliato." Theo cast to prevent Blaise from eavesdropping. "Where were you?" Theo asked with concern.
"At the pier." Draco replied casually.
Theo stared at him for a long time. "You were at the pier this whole time?" He asked.
"Yes."
"Alone?" Theo questioned.
"No." Draco hesitated. "Verilia was there." Draco felt like he had been caught. The truth was, him and Verilia stayed at the pier chatting for hours. It had been so long since they weren't mad at each other and spent time alone. When they lost track of time they had found it funny at first, then realized they'd have to sneak back into their dorms as it was past curfew.
"Sophie was out this late too?" Theo asked in shock. Sophie was no rule breaker. Draco nodded. "What were you guys doing?" Theo was embracing his motherly instinct.
"Catching up." Draco shrugged.
"Catching up?" Theo asked suspiciously.
"What?" The two boys stared at each other. "For Merlin's sake Nott. Verilia and I lived together for a whole holiday. I think I can spend some time catching up with her. What do you think I have ulterior motives?"
"No." Theo said. "I've just never........" He thought back to Draco's confession that night of the party. "oh never mind." Theo climbed out of Draco's bed. "Goodnight."
The next morning Draco woke up early due to Theo's snoring. Draco grabbed his pillow and launched it across the room, hitting Theo. A strange snort escaped Theo's mouth as he jolted awake.
"What the fuck?" Theo replied sleepily.
"You're being so loud." Draco groaned.
"What are you on about?" Theo rolled over irritably.
"He's right." Blaise chimed in. "I can't sleep."
Draco grunted in annoyance and threw the blankets off. He stood up and headed for the bathroom. "May as well get up."
After his shower Draco exited the bathroom and found Blaise and Theo up and getting ready. Draco rubbed the towel on his damp hair.
"You were out late." Blaise commented.
Draco nodded and ran his hands through his hair. "Crabbe thought it'd be funny to plan revenge for the itching prank. Stupid bloke didn't realize he needed to figure out who did it. Took ages to talk him off the ledge of attacking every house common room."
Theo tried to hide his smile. Who knew Draco was such a good liar?
"Right." Blaise commented. "I'm off. See you at dinner." Blaise grabbed his wand and bag and set off for the day.
Theo chuckled.
"What?" Draco snapped.
"Since when did you became such a liar?" Theo asked while making his bed.
"When I learned to talk."
"Should I be worried?" Theo asked.
"Only if you want to be." Draco smirked and grabbed his robe. "Ready mate?"
