chapter 17 - He ran

Alex sighed as he took in his surroundings, a slight pound in his head and a sting in his arm told him he was hooked up to an IV. The ceiling was a bright white but Alex couldn't see it, his eyesight was fuzzy and his eyes struggled to stay open.

But all these factors didn't stop him from ripping the IV out of his arm, pleased that no alarm went off or any nurses came running. He sat up feeling pressure on his stomach's right side.

Flopping back down onto the bed, Alex muttered angrily at his stitches for tearing. Then, after gathering some strength and his eyes finally staying open a but longer than 1 second, he sat back up and swung his legs over the side if the bed. His headache increased.

coldness on his top half, he grabbed his t-shirt that was in a box under the bed and chucked it over his bandages, the meds given to him helping with the pain that Alex knew would be there.

Then he ran.

Chapter 18 -  He got hit

He didn't get far. and it didn't take him long to figure out the camp's electrics were down. it also didn't take him long to know something was out of the ordinary.

the moon shone relatively bright so Alex still stuck to the shadows. instead of a creepy wolf howl or extremely fake high pitched scream that you hear in movies at times like this, he heard a grunt and leaves rustling unnaturally.

alex looked around quickly, the tree next to him was sturdy and had big branches. He climbed it.

"YOU M*TH*R F**K*R!!" a deep male voice called out and Alex heard a thump.

Alex moved from one tree to another one via the closely knit branches. he felt one particularly small branch shudder under his weight and he quickly ran across to the base of it.

Another grunt and another thud. leaves rustled unnaturally again and a click back of a gun came from down below. Alex's head immediately looked down.

The man was wearing a dark dark brown outfit, perfect for hiding in a forest like this at night. if it wasn't for the tiny red light on the what appeared to be a real gun, Alex may not have noticed a person there.

And then he noticed, the gun was pointing up, the slight shine of an eye lit up a smirking face with mud smudged on it.

He heard the click, he acknowledged it. and accepted his fate... to be hit in the face with a paintball.
