We need to go.

Go where.

We have friends D.

I don't want to involve anyone we dont need to. Yakuza will kill anyone that stands in there way or who tries to help us.

We need to get her to Russia my dad had associates there. They own a private airport. If we get her there we can fly her home. At least there she can be safe.  Morimoto was still going on about taking me back to the states.

We are gonna need money for that.  D agreed trying to find a way.

While they bicker back and forth between themselves the only thing I could think was that no way was I going to go back home.  Leaving him was not an option however the idea of going back there just didn't sit well with me.  I was no good there.

We can earn it. There's the casinos that were loyal to us in Kobe and Tokyo. Our friends there may be able to help. We can always race for it.

Well do you know any place to do this. A place that yakuza doesn't already know about..

If we push North through China into south Russia. There are underground races there. You remember. Old school.

We are on our own we can't use anyone that is associated with
yakuza or past business. Our casinos in Kobe either. Everything we use or anyone we go to has to be non associated to the Yakuza.

I know a place we can hide until we figure things out. I interupted getting their attention.  I made friends with an old shop owner. She remembers he had a hidden bunker area in his cellar.

Mao yong Zheng was the shop owner that provided the dynamite that blew up the Kobe Ports.

They had a plan. Kobe.

Things were quiet still the quiet made me restless. I saw Yumi take off upstairs and went looking for her.

It was dark out by now so we could at least come up for air. The shop owner had an outside nook that was private and this was where Yumi had escaped to.

Yumi you've been sending daggers since we left. Mira expressed in a tone of concern.

He loves you ya know that right.  Her eyes were still glued up at the sky.  The sky that was unusually clear and lit up with stars that seemed to shine brighter than normal. He'll even take a bullet for you but thats the easy part. None of us will ever be welcomed back here again. Yakuza won't stop till were all dead.

She wasn't wrong and at that I felt extreme guilt for putting us here.. I tried to get him to do it. Mira explained.

You didn't try hard enough.  She turned towards me now with a look I had never seen before.  Not on her at least.

You do it then right here. I want you to.  I stood firmly that was the least I could do.  I didnt want to go out a coward.

The problem is that yakuza don't take betrayal lightly so even if I did it right here and now it wouldn't matter. They'd still kill us.  She took in a deep breath and exhaled sadly with a slow sigh of despair.

I'm sorry Yumi.

Well we all die sooner or later she said placing a hand over my shoulder. Your a good kid you never deserved this anyway and besides there's no better reason to die than family.

That night was quiet. A calming silence that left an unsettling worry. With some difficulty I managed to close my eyes but it seemed only seconds before loud booms and crashing outside had echoed the streets.. We had been made.

When I reached the front windows of the shop the gang had already positioned themselves to see the show. Buildings were already a flame and we were close enough to see the smoke had already risen from yards away where the casinos had sat.

I couldn't help myself. I know he told us to not look back. Maybe the guilt or maybe because I was just anxious and it reminded me of when I lost Sara. That emptiness when I looked back at the lights from the ambulance. It was a small comparison but seeing the old buildings lit up and smoking just left an incredible sadness. The place was so unique and beautiful. It held a mystic and pure feel to it as if a reminder of things that should remain untouched. It reminded me of the purity of friendship that should have lasted forever.

We had worked so hard at securing this place. It was thriving now. Well it was. In a days time all that would remain would be ash.

I turned around and closed my eyes shut now wishing that I had never looked back. I could have remembered it as it was but now all I would ever see is it burning. The poor Zhengs, they didn't deserve what they got. Everything ripped from them because they decided to help a friend. At least they died together.

Mira I know what your doing. Don't. Morimoto was trying to be supportive though the criticizing tone in his voice shook unconvincingly.

I look over at my blonde friend. What am I doing.

Your blaming yourself. I can see it. Its not your fault Mira it isn't any of our faults.

Yumi just huffed out sarcastically.

I'm sure deep down he wanted to convince himself of the same. Takashi just remained quiet with a painful shade of concern that remained fixed on the road ahead.

We had been on the run all night and most of the day. When we finally stopped at this run down motel I didnt even care what it looked like I was exhausted.

He was leaning against his car. Looking down at his phone, his beautiful eyes flitting across the screen. He wore a tight black t-shirt and faded blue jeans that slightly reminded me if his racing days. It was simple, non extravagant but he sported it professionally like a sexy Italian calander model. I had gotten used to the suits and ties for awhile now and it was rare to see him in casual wear. I had a sudden fear that ran through me. A reminder that I was just not good enough for him. I never was but there he was putting his life on line for me, again. I quickly mentally reminded myself that we really shouldn't be in this situation. Thats when the mental breakdown ended. I said self,, Snap out of it, there really wasn't time for second thinking.

He was in a mood as he ended his phone call. He was about to open his mouth to complain but stopped as his eyes landed on me. He did my body a once over then looked at my face then down at my boots and slowly scanned upward once more. A long stare with a look in his eyes that I couldn't quite comprehend. He licked his lips leisurely like he was thirsty, which naturally would make me want to tear his clothes from his body. Then after he gulped he smiled sweetly. Damn you are so beautiful.

He ducked his head burying it next to my neck. His hands found mine and placed them next to his sides and up inside of his shirt. I gasped feeling shy at the intimate contact of skin on skin but that feeling didnt last and my body immediately responded to his.

So whats our next plan.
Not sure he hummed in response against my neck. Kissing me feverishly. Thats just you not wanting to talk about the plan, maybe avoiding the plan all together by thoughts of rolling around in the sheets all morning so to speak.

Maybe haha. I just don't want to be seperated from you.

Your right this is much better I agreed copying his movements. Any means to getting started today had been long forgotten.

Well we are almost to the border now so maybe we will start to get lucky.

With that a tired looking Morimoto had started to head our way. By the looks of him he didn't seem well rested. Poor guy probably didn't sleep well. I looked at his new haircut remembering his attempt at changing his look.  He came back late with hair die and scissors requesting I help with his new disguise.  His signature yellow hair had to go.  He was going to be brunette from now on but I would still love him no matter what color it was.

Yumi still scowling but really all this was to be expected.

We remained road bound with a destination in mind. Beijing.
