Finally Saturday came and with it was Hans's birthday. I was so excited because we had spent the last two days planning a party. I wanted it to be a surprise personally but you just could not surprise the guy. He had a way of knowing things at least thats what Neela kept saying. Anyway the party would have to be at his place and everyone would be there.
His place was always loaded with girls. Blonde, Brunettes, redheads many just littered his rooms. These women were beautiful. Was I jealous? Maybe a little but not for the obvious reasons. I liked looking at the girls but I didn't want to be them. I liked my introvertedness. I enjoyed being unique as Neela put it.
While Neela and I were out looking for gifts I found a beaded bracelet that I thought he would like. Besides what do you get a guy that has everything.
Twinkie got him a custom made crome racing wheel for his Mazda and Neela got him a black hoodie with a picture of a sports car on one side and something along the lines of the anatomy of happiness has everything to do with cars on the other.
A few girls pitched in and bought him a really nice rolex. All in all he looked pretty happy. He kept giving me a look like he couldn't wait to see what I had in store for him. I guess I just had that look of knowing.
I pulled him aside after all the gifts to give him mine. Here It's supposed to bring luck or success or something." I laughed handing him the braclet nervously.
"Can always use some of that for sure." He joked leaning back against his car. He looked up at me and glanced over my outfit. Eyeing me from my knee high boots upward and finishing at my white solid corset ruffled top "Do I get to have you?" He teased.
"Maybe"...I teased back feeling my smile take over. "So where is this surprise you have been raving about."
He grabbed my hand and we walked down the stairs to the garage. He pulled the cover over to reveal what he had been putting several months into. The car was beautiful and Twinkie of course seemed more excited about it than Han himself.
"Look at that!!!" Mmmm that is a lot of hard work right there. You see how perfect she is for me. Haha. I'll bet she can beat the Supra."
"You're full of shit twinkie...she can for sure beat your Volkswagen."
"Ok I'm not arguing but for real".....he added.
Everyone hovers over to see inside as the top is popped. Reiko and Earl are discussing engines and all I can see is the artwork.
"Nice huh?" Twinkie says.
"It's ok?"
"What you could do better?" He squealed lowering the tone of his voice as if he was offended by my comment.
"I don't know, maybe" I said as he wandered off to admire the Nissan.
We were sitting in the back by the ports outside talking. Watching as some raced around the track.
"You want to take it for a spin?" Han asked as he gestured over at the car nodding with his head.
"No I'm good. I'd rather watch thanks."
"Don't like the cars or"...he waited as I shrugged my shoulders..."I can teach you"..
"I can drive. I was just Never good in confined spaces." I added. "I prefer bikes."
"Ohhhh yeah, I never would have guessed." He held my stare as if he would find some dishonesty behind it. "You like the power between your legs. I get it." He casually stirs a cocktail and hands it to me. I watch as he pulls a corona from his cooler and pops the cap off slick like.
"So tell me about them." I finally got up the courage to ask as I leaned over him to steal his beer. He looked confused. Whether it was that I just stole his drink or me questioning him about his past I'm not sure. "The friends that you did hard time with." I said to jog his memory.
"Who said I did time." he laughed. Grabbing another beer.
"Neela said that you had problems with the law." I took a swallow of the carbonated drink as I watched for clues. If it made him uncomfortable then I didnt want to push the subject. "She said that you were tight with some people and everything else is a secret." I added as I continued to press him. He seemed to want to close up, maybe he wasn't expecting to answer such personal questions so soon. "Where are they?"
"They weren't just friends, they were family and"....he paused as if he was remembering something painful.
"A girl right?" I could tell I was on to something by the look he gave me. "It could only have been a girl that got you so messed up." "What she leave you for your best friend or something." I joked trying to lighten the mood. Taking another gulp of my carona as I waited.
"She died." He finally said.
He turned to look off in the distance and then as if I hadn't felt bad enough about bringing it up he added.
"She died saving my life."
I was completely numb. I felt badly but really what can you say to that. I didnt know how to respond so I stood there quiet for a minute before he looked back over at me.
"Oh, wow I'm sorry I shouldn't have pressed you." I suddenly felt really awkward. I knew I was pushing it but I really wanted to know. "Is that why you left?"
"No, he shook his head.. Well a little. We get in trouble when we stick together." He said taking another gulp of his beer. "I'm here when they need me. What about you?" He asked wanting to change the subject.
I just shook my head in response. Not really wanting to discuss it. "Same old shit story as everyone else."
"You got through it, heading off to college I hear."
"Yeah but it wasn't easy and I still have a but load of work to do. That's why I'm here just to enjoy a little before diving back into it ya know. Neela she's the only friend that I still have."
"Well you have me now. I'll be your friend." He said, trying to change the heaviness in our conversations. I smiled at this.
"Oh just friends huh?"
"Oh no." He said just before kissing me again. Your not getting away so easily Mira.
I slowly straddled him and began to kiss him as some cars pulled up. Lights beamed on us as if we were entertainment of sorts. My hand covered the glare in my eyes until I noticed his shadow to the side. DK and his group got out of their cars as Han pulled me off and asked me to wait inside until he finished his business.
DK gave me a grin. A silent reminder of the moment we had shared at the arcade as I walked by.
I walked back inside finding everyone loud and laughing. Scrambling around to cook food. Neela holding out her arm for me. We were all hammered of course.
"Where is the birthday boy?"
"Business with your boy DK." Neela frowned at my response. I wondered why she hated him so much but couldn't bring myself to ask.
Han walked back inside and held out his hand for mine. "You all are staying tonight right?" I looked to Neela hoping for a yes as she shook her head. I followed close behind as he led me down a hall and back to his room. Bigger than the others and his bed was nicer than his car. I assumed this was where he had all the girls.
Han was sexy and sweet but my mind kept drifting. My thoughts were on someone else. Forcing my thoughts back to Han I flipped my hair from one side to the other. Before claiming his lips. My hands pulled through his hair behind him.
I couldn't tell if it was me but something seemed to slow the passion between us. "What?" I asked as I pulled away to look into his dark brown eyes.. It seemed that his mind was also preoccupied. He finally answered through a whisper.
"You just remind me of someone is all." His actions seemed to mirror my own. Both heated in the moment but clearly with someone else. The sex was amazing though not what I expected. I expected wild and crazy and what we had was slow and passionate.
It was quiet, early probably. I look over at my sleeping lover. He looked so peaceful laying sprawled out like that. I didn't want to wake him but I couldn't lie still any longer. I grabbed my things and went in search of Neela.
