Chapter 7

"I always knew you have trouble remembering things. Looks like it's as bad as I remember."

I crossed my arms over my chest and said coolly, "While we're on the subject, maybe now's a good time to tell me why you ditched the bouquet of flowers at my house the night I disappeared."

"It was an apology for being a jerk." Miranda's eyes still flicked over the trees outside the window, her body language was obvious now, she was tense. She winced and retracted her raven wings, leaving the last feature of Mother Miranda behind.

"So you thought flowers could fix that?". You laughed.

"Y/n... stop avoiding this conversation " the silence stretched too long. The way she said your name was like the first time she said your name. -My mind summoned a picture of Miranda's face. The image was of the very first time we met. Her long blonde hair, and her eyes looked like they didn't miss a thing, perceiving the secrets and desires of my soul. I remembered the startled expression on her face when I kissed her for the first time.-

"Go ahead, tell me. I hope the excuse is good." Finally looking Miranda directly to her eyes both of you took a seat on the couch.

"Besides, then what? Do you spect us to pretend that nothing happened?" You added cutting her.

"Y/n, you know I had to marry him to gain my position there. Also we were both wrong, and you know it, don't play the victim here. Let's give this the closure it deserves". She spoke.

" I don't care about your damn position. And so what Miranda? What was I supposed to do? What would you do if the love of your life married behind your back?. I was there for you, I gave you the power you have now , a place to stay back then in 1901 and for what? ¡I was hurt Miranda... it still hurts! ". You said while taking a deep breath because you felt your voice was about to break at any moment.

Miranda's face changed drastically when she heard the tone in your voice. She regained her composure and moved closer to you, one hand placed in yours. Her eyes showing emotion for the first time in a century.

"I was an idiot Y/n, I didn't love him. Back in those years, I thought for a minute that it could work, that I was doing something good. But I was wrong Y/n , instead I made the worst mistake in my whole life, but when I realized it was too late. I hate to admit it but I think about you everyday since. I've lost a lot of things ,including you. You were right that night. I'm a selfish woman who is willing to do whatever it takes to have what she wants. And I'm willing to do everything to get you back. I know this doesn't fix anything but I... I'm sorry. Don't run away from me again." Miranda said breaking eye contact with you, she hated to show her feelings, this wasn't like her but she had to do it in order to have you again in her arms.

"Miranda.. I-I." You were out of words. She moved closer to you , now holding both of your hands and looking you directly through your soul, shivers down your spine...

Miranda gently removed the hair out of your face.

"Miranda".

"I'm not going anywhere", you confessed quietly while holding her face with your hands.

You rose to your feet, pulling her up with you, a little dizzy from the audacity of what you were about to do. You were all slippery emotions inside, able to grasp three of them. Curiosity, lust and desire. She stood perfectly still. "Y/n," she said roughly. She stroked her thumb across your lips, you closed the almost inexistent distance between you and kissed her pink lips.

-I'd been secretly fantasizing about this moment since I'd first seen Miranda again. I'd created a hundred variations of it in my head since then, but my imagination had never come close to making me feel the way I did right now. I felt an irresistible draw, luring me closer, closer.
No matter what happened, I didn't ever want to forget how it felt after all this time. I wanted to imprint her touch, her taste, even the scent of her so solidly inside me that no one could take them away from me.-

She slid her hands up your arms, memorizing everything.  She spread her fingers through her hair, feeling it flutter through them. Her pale skin, her bright blue eyes, the confident line of her posture, the seductive length of her eyelashes.

Miranda's arms wrapped around you, securing you against her. She kissed you harder, and the depth of your response was clear. Miranda backed us slowly down the wall until. The only sound left was her breathing with difficulty. Lips soft like winter, just as I recalled. A time capsule opened between us, one that was as frightening as it was familiar. I knew it was real. I'd kissed like this before. You pulled away, touching your lower lip.

"I know I got carried away, I-I'll see you tomorrow" You said while vanishing into the stairs, Miranda nodded and you heard her laughing.
