Two months later
"Good luck today Luke, I hope you have a great first day of highschool and I'll see you this afternoon." Ansleigh said as they pulled up to the parent drop off/pick up.
"Yeah yeah thanks mom." He said
"And tell Elliot I said the same thing." She said
"Okay." Lucas said as he got out of the car.
Lucas went inside the high school and found the freshmen wing where his friends were. He had been friends with since middle school.
"Hey Camilla.." Lucas said
"Hey Luke..can you believe we are in highschool now." Camilla said
"I know right.." Elliot said
Their group of friends got bigger as everyone else came in. Bucky was a history teacher and gym teacher at the high school. He seen the big group and felt the sting that creeps every once in awhile of missing TJ especially when he sees the kids of his friends.
"New year new season Barnes." Sam said as he slapped his shoulder.
"Yeah I know." Bucky said
Meanwhile across town Ansleigh was getting ready for the morning rush.
"So any news on the dating front.." Melody said to her.
"Mel..I don't have time for that." She said
"Yes you do. You just don't know how to time manage. Besides Anni you have busting your tail since we were 16." Melody said
"Mel unlike you..I've had to bust my ass since I was 16. You had Elliot Jr by your side for the last 15 years..I have a business to run and 15 year old son who has an attitude lately. Dating for me is far from the list of priorities." She said
"Ansleigh all I'm saying is, maybe it wouldn't hurt to put yourself back out there. When was the the last time you had sex..honestly." Melody said
"Mel I am not having this conversation..go to work and let me work." She said as she went to the back.
"I am not giving this up Annie Marie." Mel said as she left.

Three days later was the JV team's first game when Lucas wasn't on the field he was looking for his mom. He saw Melody sitting with Elliot's dad but not Ansleigh. She finally showed up right before half time and sat down.
He seen her and shook his head. She mouthed "I'm sorry.."
Bucky seen her thinking she must be an older sister cause she looked to young to be his mom. Lucas ran back out on the field.
"How's he doing El." She said
"He's doing great." Elliot Said
"But he's been looking for you all night." Melody said
"Yeah." She said
When the game was over she waited for him to finish talking to Bucky. He stopped to talk to Camilla a girl who has been a friend for awhile.
"You were late.." he said
"I'm sorry Luke." She said as they walked to the car.
"Mom why can't you close the bakery down early on game nights. Or hire more people." He said
"Luke I have to count the money and close up. I can't help that I'm the boss.." she said
"Whatever.." he said as he walked on without her.
Melody and Elliot caught up to her. "Give him some time Annie.." Elliot said
"Hey aunt Annie can Luke stay with me tonight?" EJ said
"Yeah I'm sure he doesn't want to be around me right now anyways." Ansleigh said
"We will pick him up in a bit." Melody said
"Okay." Ansleigh said as she went on the car.
