Two days later
"Knock knock"
"Come in.." Bucky said
"You wanted to see a Ms Matthews.." the receptionist said
"Yeah I did.." he said
Ansleigh walked in "Thank you Penny". She said
"Ms Matthews...I was looking for.." he said but she cut him off.
"I'm not his sister I'm his mother.." she said
He looked at her "Please forgive me..how old are you?" He said
"I'm 30..I just turned 30 in May. And yes I have a 15 year old son.." she said
She took a deep breathe. "Can you please cut him some slack..it's not his fault. It's my fault I have no help. Yes I have friends but he's my responsibility..I run my own business the Sugar and Spice bakery..my grandparents are in a nursing home..and my parents live in GA. And his dad is out of the picture has been since I told him I was pregnant..so it's just me and him. He loves football Coach Barnes please don't punish him." She said
"Ms Matthews..I understand that you have a lot on your plate.." he started to say.
She looked down as she bit her lip. "You hold practice right after the end of the breakfast rush Coach Barnes..I have to leave work to bring him here and leave work to pick him up and drop him off at home to head back to work." She said
He looked down. She reminded him of someone else in his life his sister Isabella who got pregnant at 16 and had his nephew. The struggle she had before she met her now husband.
"Ms Matthews,I'll cut him some slack. But no offense you really need to work on your time management skills. I don't know how many times I have to get him to focus on the game while he is looking for you on the sidelines." Bucky said
"That's what everyone says to me.." she said as she walked out.
