(5) Tardiness Again

Two weeks later 

"Where is Matthews?" Bucky said as they others were running. 

It was a Saturday morning and they had practice at 11AM every Saturday. Ansleigh finally pulled into the parking lot. She helped him get his stuff out of the trunk and he ran off to the field. He was already twenty minutes later. 

"I'm here Coach sorry.." he said 

Bucky seen her white car the same white car that is always dropping him off. 

"Matthews..get suited up and run laps..the rest of you burpees." Bucky said and blew his whistle. 

"Watch them while I go make a phone call." Bucky said to Steve 

"You got it.." Steve said as he blew his whistle. 

Bucky went to his office inside the school. He went through his player drawer in his filing cabinet. 

"Matthews.." he said 

He laid the file down on the desk and looked through his file to find a contact number. She had already made it back to work and left her phone in her office. 

"Hey Mrs Matthews, this is Coach Barnes Lucas' football coach. I was needing to speak with you about his tardiness to Saturday practices. I'd like to meet with you at 9AM that's my free period during school hours. Hope to see you then." Bucky said and hung up the phone.

Bucky rejoined the practice after he was done. Ansleigh got the voicemail when she went to check her phone to see if practice was over. It had been two hours so went ahead and went to go go get him. 

Lucas squirted some water on his face."I've already left a message with your parents..concerning your tardiness. Maybe we can work something out so your sister doesn't have to keep being your ride." Bucky said 

"My sister?.." he whispered to himself 

"You are good player Matthews I'd hate to have to cut you." Bucky said 

Lucas looked down as he went to the parking lot. 

"Luke honey what's wrong?" She said as he got in the car. 

"I got in trouble..for being late again. I had to run extra laps and he said he called you..although he thinks the girl that is dropping me off is my sister." He said 

"I know he called me. I'll talk to him." She said 

"Please do..I love football mom he said he would have to cut me from the team and I just asked Camilla to Homecoming.." he said 

"Okay.." she said as they left the school.
