(18) Sweet Sixteen

Two weeks later 

"Happy birthday Luke.." Bucky said when he came into the kitchen yawning. 

"Thanks.." he said as Camilla trailed in behind him. 

"Where's mom?" he said when he realized Bucky was alone. 

He pointed out the back door Ansleigh was standing on the porch over looking the lake. She was sipping her coffee. 

"She's emotional today." Bucky whispered as he stepped outside. 

He wrapped a blanket around her. "You okay?" He whispered as he wrapped arms around her. 

"I think so, it's just an emotional day. My parents are on their way my moms parents aren't coming they never come. It's..just I don't know hard to believe that 16 years ago at 15 I gave birth to him. We practically grew up together..and now." She said as she turned around and looked at Bucky. 

"You're the grown up and he's starting to catch up." He said 

"Yeah..and I know he's only 16. But he and I have always been close. But the more he grows the more our bond slowly dissipates." She said 

Bucky kissed her. "He's growing up baby. And soon enough it will be just me and you." He said 

"Can we have a baby?" She said

"Yeah we can. We can start trying when ever you want." He said as he helped her back inside. 

Later that afternoon, family and friends were gathered at the recreational center to celebrate Lucas' birthday. Bucky's parents came,all of their friends came along with their kids. Ansleigh's parents were also In town.

The room was filled with laughter chatter but more importantly love filled the room. Lucas had blast with his friends. Ansleigh brought out his cake.

Lucas kissed her cheek. "Thanks mom" he said as she lit the candle. 

Everyone sang happy birthday to him and he blew out his candles. 

"Aww Annie my baby" Ralph said as he saw her crying and he hugged her. 

Jenni rubbed her back. "She's been like this all day.." Bucky whispered 

"Sixteen years has flown by..and we watched our baby have a baby raise a baby while she was still a baby herself. I think she's just having a tough time accepting that her baby is growing up. It's always been them and now new people have been added." Jenni said 

That night as she was sitting out by the lake alone under a blanket. Lucas joined her after he got home from Camilla's house. 

"Hey mama.." he whispered as he sat in her lap under the blanket. 

"Hey.." she said 

"I know I've been a pain in the ass for awhile. And I wasn't happy seeing you date my football coach but I just wanted to say thank you." He said as he laid his head on her shoulder. 

"For what?" She said 

"For everything..especially today." He said 

She smiled. "You're welcome." She said 

Bucky seen them from the porch. "That's my boy." He whispered
