"Where am I?"I mumbled to myself, puzzled. My head was spinning and I could not stand up properly.I was gasping for air.I was starting to lose consciousness.Suddenly,a loud pierced the stillness.I woke up.It was a dream. However, the relief was momentarily as a loud alarming sound jolted me again. My eyes were wide with alarm.Beads of sweat dripped down my forehead.I looked around me but saw nothing out of the ordinary.I strained my eyes to look for a burglar in the pitch dark room.Nothing.
I slowly advanced towards the door;I turned the door knob cautiously with butterflies in my stomach. The door creaked open.I inched outside. My parents were working overseas so no one was at home with me.I heard some noise in my neighbors apartment.I peeped through the window;my eyes bulged at what I saw.The couple was arguing! The husband was throwing things randomly at his wife."Why are they fighting?"I thought to myself.
Since the door was slightly ajar,I dashed in without thinking of the consequences."Stop!"I shouted, shielding the wife with my body."Who on earth are you?"the husband yelled. His breath reeked of beer."I guess that is not important anymore."the husband bellowed. He started throwing pots and pans at me and his wife.We ducked and dogged.A frying pan almost hit me right in the face,"What a close shave."I mumbled under my breath.Luckily,I learned martial arts.I took the chance to punch him in the face when he ran out of things to throw. He staggered and fell on a couch."Quick!Call the police!"I instructed the wife. She dialed the number and briefly told the police our current situation.
The husband soon regained consciousness and moaned in pain.He stood up unsteadily.I took the wife by her hand and led her outside. We sped down the stairs. The husband was hot on our trail. We heard the siren of police cars and luckily by the time we reached the ground floor, the police had arrived. The police surrounded the husband. The husband kicked and struggled before the police finally apprehended him. They then brought him back to the police station for interrogation.
I vowed to myself that I would never do anything so rash and refrain from violence except when I'm in danger.
