An incident in an MRT train

As I sat at the MRT station waiting for the train to arrive,I took out my newspaper and began to browse through the pages quickly.But one particular report caught my eye.It was on an incident of a robbery on a train heading for Boon Lay.I recalled a similar incident which happened on a train twelve years ago in Japan...
The train was packed like sardines that unfortunate morning.It was the peak hour and everyone was rushing to work.There was a particular man who caught my eye.He was wearing a rather oversized coat and a pair of baggy shorts,a long scarf which covered his mouth and a cap that hid his eyes.It was already odd enough that his attire was not for the right season.To add on to suspicion,he kept shifting around looking uncomfortable.I thought to myself,"What an odd man.It is summer now,why is he wearing a scarf?"
My thoughts were interrupted when there was a loud scream.The man I aw just now was holding two guns!He was ordering people to give him their money or else he would shoot them.People in the cabin started to panic.They had no choice but to surrender their money.My mind raced for ideas to stop this madman.Finally,I remembered the communication button at the side of the train doors.I inched towards the button slowly,not wanting to alert him.
When I reached the button,I briefly explained our situation to the train operator The train operator contacted the police immediately and told them our location.By the next station,the police were already there waiting.They swarmed into the cabin armed with guns and batons.When the robber saw the police,he attempted to escape but a police blocked the exit.The robber knocked down the police officer and continued running.The rest of the police were hot on his trail and they finally apprehended him.They brought him to the police station for questioning.
It was mentioned in the newspaper a few days later that he was working with a few other people to use the stolen money for luxuries.Luckily,his plan was foiled by the police.
