(Taehyung's POV)

I was working on one old unsolved case file. I couldn't help but notice that Jin was relatively late than usual. Not that I care, in fact I do care just like I care about my other team members who are busy goofing around.

I went back to studying my case file, this one was really interesting so I was really engrossed in reading it. Suddenly my cabin door opened revealing a slightly panting Jin. I figured he ran as he was a bit late. But he didn't apologize, nothing. He just opened his mouth as if wanting to say something but then closed it and mumbled nevermind and left.

What's with him?, I thought as I followed him out. I called him from behind but he kept walking or I can say practically running away. I caught up to him and held his hand.

"Do you want to say something lieutenant Kim?", I asked.

"Uh- well nothing really-", he said while stuttering a bit.

"Were you here to tell me why you are late today?", I asked while raising a brow.

"Yess! Exactly! That's what I was here for! Correct! Sorry cap I kinda overslept", he said in an unusually loud voice. Then before I can say anything he quickly escaped from my hold.

'What's with him today?", I thought.

"You never care if I am late", Yoongi said from behind.

"Because my love, I always know your whereabouts", I said to Yoongi, trying to creep him out and of course it worked. He made a disgusted face and said, "dude you are crazy". With that he went away. I smirked at my friend and turned around to see Jin happily laughing about something that Hoseok said. A smile automatically formed on my face seeing him laugh like that.

Rest of the day was pretty normal until we received two cases, one of an assault and other of theft. We split into two teams as always Jin, Jungkook and I were on one team and Hoseok and Yoongi were on other.

Hoseok and Yoongi were going to handle the theft case as it was just a minor case, so no need for more manpower. Me, Jin and Jungkook were going to handle the other case.

I quickly opened the door and sat in the driver's seat. Jin first came but didn't enter in the car. He just stayed outside. Jungkook came from behind and said, "get in, what are you waiting for?". Jin nodded and absentmindedly started walking towards Yoongi's car.

"Jin! Come here, you are on this case", I had to remind him. I can see he was a bit embarrassed, but still came. But he didn't sit in the front seat where he always sits, rather he went to backseat. Even Jungkook gave him a confused stare.

'Why is he acting so different?', I thought as I gave a last glance to the backseat where Jin sat before starting the car.

"Let's get going", I said while starting the car.

Jin was chatting with Jungkook on the way but not me. It felt kinda weird because he always had something to talk to me. But right now, it just felt like I was invisible.

When we reached to the location, Jungkook was interrogating the suspect. Jin on the other hand was trying to calm down the victim.

The victim was 35 years old woman who was a little shook by the incidence. The fact that the suspect was her husband made me more angry. He was assaulting her in public, luckily one passerby cared enough to call the police.
