Part 68

North's POV

Damnit! I can't seem to win anything. Fuck! We are heading over to the batting cages, where Silas is most likely going to be top dog. That is his strength. Don't get angry North. This is all fun and games. Oh who am I kidding! I am about to explode with my desire to kiss Sang Baby.

At least I'm not the only one who hasn't kissed her yet. Mr. B looks about as wound up as I am. Nathan was the fastest climber and he won the kiss. He scooped Peanut up bridal style, whispered in her ear something that made her blush and then he was covering her face in kisses. She was loving every one of them. Her giggles were giving me a boner.

Boring thoughts, boring thoughts. History, geometry, football with shit faced guys like Rocky. Yea, that did it. Nothing kills a boner like Rocky.

Blaze approached us with a happy, friendly smile. "How are we all doing?" He asked us.

"This place is fabulous Blaze!" Sang squealed with delight in Nathan's arms.

"What activity is next?"

"We are going to the batting cages." Silas answered with a pleased expression.

"Did you bring batting helmets for that too?" Blaze asked Victor.

He looked embarrassed. "I forgot." Was his reply. Who cares if he doesn't have our batting helmets? No big deal. They have helmets here.

Baby asked Nathan to put her down and went over to Victor. "We don't need our own batting helmets. I'm sure they have some here. And I know your thoughts about using communal helmets. But it will be ok, I promise." He nodded yes and came out of his funk a bit.

"Is that what you look embarrassed about? Forgetting helmets? None of us expected you to bring them! Hell, none of us expected you to remember our racing helmets. And then to put Sang's pet name on them, you having a fucking big heart Victor." I told him, slapping him on the back. He was sincere in his smile of thanks.

"I'll walk you over there." Blaze said to us.

"How long have you worked here Blaze?" Kota asked him as we walked.

"For ten years. This place had just opened up. We have added to it since we opened."

"How old were you when you started working here? You don't look old enough to have worked here ten years." Victor asked him.

"I was 15 years old. And all the reasons for that are a long story for another time. Today is about your family's fun! We are now here at the batting cages. Tavin is going to help you out with helmets and bats. Enjoy yourselves and if you need anything don't hesitate to get me."

"Thank you." We all said gratefully.

"We have three batting cages and in each one you can select to have the balls pitched slow, medium or fast. If you pick slow, softballs will be pitched. But medium and fast pitch are baseballs. A pitching session is 20 pitches." Tavin was instructing us.

"Um Silas? When it's my turn, can you show me how to do this?" Baby asked him. Lucky bastard!

"Anything for you Aggele!"

"Who is going first?" Doc asked.

"How about Mr. Lee, Mr. Coleman and Mr. Morgan."

The three of them went and put their helmets on. They will do ok, but they are not the competition. I cannot help but watch though. I am just so focused on winning that kiss I don't want to miss anything.

"How are we picking a winner on this one?" Kota asked.

"The most balls hit?" Silas suggests.

"Sounds good." Kota agreed.
