Part 153 - Saturday Dec. 7th
Sang's POV
We were laughing and having fun at Frankie's Cantina. I think I was done eating by the time our food arrived. We had devoured the chips and salsa like we hadn't eaten in a month. But now my stomach was full.
After the waiter set my plate down I asked, "Can I get a 'to go box' please?"
"Trouble, you haven't even eaten yet."
"Pookie, I need you to eat at least one of the enchiladas or the taco first."
"I don't want to stuff myself to the point of feeling sick. We ate popcorn and gummy bears while watching the movie and I have eaten so many chip with salsa I might just randomly shout "Olé!"." I flicked my arms up in the air with a snap to emphasize my point. What I hadn't realized was that someone was right behind me. I just "oléd" someone in the face.
Sean jumped up to check on the girl that had her face in her hands. "I'm so sorry" I mumbled and tried to get up, but Luke held me down. Meanie was laughing and stood up to talk to someone that was behind the girl. Luke was rubbing my thigh under the table cooing to me, "it's fine Cupcake. I'm sure you didn't do any permanent damage." His eyes twinkled with humor.
Can someone kill me now! They just cannot take me anywhere. Gabriel is right, I am trouble!
"I'm fine, really. I was just taken by surprise, that's all." The girl said as she pulled her hands away from her face.
"You're one of Blaze's sisters! Now I feel even worse." I was startled and feeling like crap.
"Breezy." She stated and held her hand out for me to shake it. "I'm sorry I don't remember your names. I did recognize you guys though."
"Sang." I responded and gently shook her hand. "I am Dr. Green, you didn't have any injuries that needed attending to that night. How are you? Any emotional trauma?" Always the doctor.
"No more than is to be expected after an abduction." She responded. The guy behind her was standing right behind her. He put both hands on her shoulders and rubbed up and down her arms.
"I'm Luke. I was driving the van the Doc was in. But I believe you were the koala bear, right?" Luke teased as he shook her hand.
"Boa constrictor would be more appropriate of a description. Every time Thayne tried to set me down, I would just wind myself around him a little tighter." She giggled at her own description. Thayne smiled.
"I'm sure Thayne could think of worse things than to have a pretty girl clinging to him like he was a life preserver." Gabriel laughed and shook Breezy's hand. "Gabriel. I was keeping Trouble here out of trouble that night." He pointed toward me and Breezy laughed.
"Thayne didn't tell me your nickname was Trouble or I would have approached from the other side of the table." She joked with me.
"I didn't know her nickname was Trouble. I have only seen her twice. Once at your house when she came to check on Blaze and you were needing my attention that night. The other time was at a diner she works at. But she was busy crying that day so I didn't have the pleasure of introductions." He stuck his hand out to me, "I'm Thayne, it's nice to finally meet you."
"Sang." I shook his hand and tried to keep from shaking.
"So are you two out on a date? Or are the rest of the Wade family or the Steven's team going to be showing up soon?" Sean asked casually, a smile on his face, but I could see some tension lying below the surface, by the way his eyes looked.
"It's just us." Breezy answered. "We went on a double date last night with Star and Cannon, but I needed alone time with Thayne today." She turned in toward him, placing her hand on his bicep and leaned her head on his chest. He encircled his arms around her protectively.
"Well, we won't keep you then. Enjoy your date." Luke dismissed the sudden gathering. "Oh Breezy," Luke leaned in and stage whispered, "don't break his heart. This one here is a keeper." Luke was pointing at Thayne.
Breezy giggled and answered in a hushed tone, "I won't." They moved off to the table their waiter had set for them.
"Alrighty then, we should finish eating so we can get to Gabe's fun." Sean commanded.
"Meanie, I know I told you we could do whatever you want for the rest of my available time, but can we spend thirty minutes of that time visiting North?"
"Of course Trouble." He had a genuine sweet smile on his face and he pat my hand. He looked at the other two, "you two fuckers better not complain or slow me down. I now get thirty minutes less." They both laughed but began shoveling the food in their mouths.
I sat back, pleased, as I watched them eat. This really was a good day.
