SOPHIA'S POV

Ioane and I decide to watch The Imitation Game. I huddle up next to him on the couch, and he wraps his arm around me while we watch the movie. Apparently, he dropped Leilani off at her grandparents, so we have the house to ourselves. The movie turns out to be a lot better than I thought, and I learn that it was based off a true story.

"I missed you," Ioane tells me.

I blush, leaning back so I can look him in the eyes. "I missed you too."

"What am I going to do when you leave?" He sighs. "Aren't you leaving in three days?"

I nod my head. "I don't know," I whisper. "I guess we'll just have to make the most of the time we have now."

"I can do that," he murmurs. The man leans in and presses his lips against mine. I welcome him, winding my hands into his hair and tugging him close. The sounds of us making out are turning me on, setting fire to parts of my body that I didn't even know could feel that way.

Ioane helps me lay back on the couch, and he begins peppering kisses down my cheek. His mouth kisses down my neck, causing me to shiver. He works his way down the V-neckline of my dress, kissing my breasts. I close my eyes, enjoying the feeling of his mouth on my skin.

When his hands find the bottom of my dress, I give him permission to lift it up over my head. He tosses it aside and admires me openly. "You are so, so, so beautiful Sofia. Every part of you," he says, kissing my belly. My hands tangle into his locks as he kisses lower, right on top of my sex. A moan escapes my lips as my core begins to burn. Ioane hooks his fingers into my panties, about to pull them down when I stop him.

"Sorry! Can you stop?" I ask breathlessly.

"Is everything okay?" His voice is octaves lower than normal.

"Yes, everything's fine," I breathe. "I just-how do it say this? I'm a virgin," I whisper.

His eyes widen. "Oh my god. I'm so sorry! I've been rushing things, haven't I? I hope I didn't make you feel cheap. It's just that you make me feel things in my body that I didn't think were possible ever again."

I smile at him. "You're fine. Really. I just had to stop you because I'm not ready to have sex yet. I didn't know until now, but it's not the right moment."

"That's perfectly fine," he says, pecking my lips. "I'm happy to just be here with you. Will you spend the night?"

I bite my lip, thinking about it. James is going to be busy all night probably. I really don't want to run into him post-sexcapade. It won't be a big deal if I stay here for a night, will it?
"Alright, I'll stay," I tell him hesitantly. Ioane grins, kissing me deeply again. I allow him to explore my mouth with his tongue, sighing deeply when he pulls away.

"You won't regret this," he says. "Let me give you some clothes to wear to bed."

"Okay, thank you," I say, blushing when I realize that I'm in my underwear in front of him.

I crawl into bed in a T-shirt of his fifteen minutes later. Ioane pulls me into his arms, and I tuck my head into his chest while I fall asleep. I feel completely calm, and I'm much happier than I anticipated being on a night where James told me he'd be sleeping with someone else.

JAMES' POV

I stay up all night waiting for Sofia, but she never shows. My blood boils thinking of the way she and Ioane must be having sex until the sun comes out. It isn't until the sun rises that my eyelids finally droop shut, and when I wake up ten hours later, Sofia still isn't home.

I check my phone, sighing when I see the text messages from her. She says she'll be staying with Ioane for the day. So much for spending time with her on our honeymoon. I shouldn't be upset about this, but I am. We usually spend our days together and our nights apart; even when we're apart at night, we both always come home. I thought that was an unspoken agreement between us. I don't like that she's breaking our routine for him.

I head down to the beach where the bar is, starting off the afternoon with a glass of scotch. I drink until the sun sets, and I'm completely drunk by the time I usually eat dinner. Sofia doesn't check in the entire day, and rage burns in my veins. Who does she think she is spending all day with another man? I'm her husband.

I decide to go home to sleep it off. The drive is really short from the beach to the cottage, so I'm not worried.

I'm about two minutes from the house when the accident happens. Some animals skitters across the road out of the blue, and I swerve to miss it. Immediately, my car shoots forward and wraps itself around a tree. I hear the sounds of the air bags going off, and slowly everything fades to black. I have a hard time opening my eyes, but I can hear everything around me.

Off in the distance, I hear the sound of a car driving by. It seems to slow down. "Oh my god, is that-is that James?" It's Sofia's voice. I would know that melodious sound anywhere.

There is the sound of a door slamming shut, and then I hear the quick pounding of shoes against pavement. "Oh my god, he's bleeding," she cries out. "Call 9-1-1, Ioane. How long has he been here like this?"

The door swings open, and I feel a hand on my forehead. I try to open my mouth to say something. I want to tell her that I haven't been here long, but nothing comes out of my mouth. I listen to the sounds of her weeping, and she places a hand on my thigh. It takes everything in me to try and open my eyes, but my efforts are in vain. Sleep overtakes me, and I end up completely blacking out. No sound, no vision. Nothing. Just complete darkness.
