I thought that being allowed to stay up late playing video games all night for a whole week would be fun.
But now...
I'm starting to realise that it will not be enjoyable.
When dinner is finished and the dishes are cleared, everyone sits together in the living room... where Atsumu and Oikawa are going to do a dance for us.
I'm so excited. I can't wait. This is going to be the highlight of my day. I've been so looking forward to this.
What's that sound?
Ah, yes.
Sarcasm.
The music starts and I immediately want to run for cover and hide from it.
They're dancing to a mash-up of positions, somebody come get her, wap, cover girl, gimme more by britney spears (it's Britney bitch), circus (I think at least one, if not both of them have a Britney Spears obsession), and i like boys by todrick hall.
It's a mess but they can dance.
Even if Oikawa has no ass.
They end the dance on the line "it's Britney bitch" (which is also what the dance started on) and I find it quite funny how red Sakusa and Iwaizumi are. Hopeless blind idiots.
Shortly after the dance, people start heading upstairs to their rooms and I zone back into my switch.
"Kenma," I hear a familiar voice say my name. "Kenma, Kenma, Kenma, Kenma," I look up and glare at my best friend. "Do you want anything before I head up to bed?" I shake my head and look back down at the switch. "I would stay up as long as I can but I've got a conference tomorrow morning. Night, kitten." Kuroo ruffles my hair slightly and disappears upstairs.
Oikawa looks at me and waits for everyone to leave before he starts to pester me.
"What's going on with you and Kuroo~?" I glare at him in response. "Aw, come on, Ken-chan,"
"He's my best friend." I say simply, struggling to avoid stuttering. Oikawa quirks up an eyebrow and I fight to keep up my glaring façade.
"That's bullshit," Oikawa says.
"What about you and Iwaizumi?" I fire back. Oikawa looks caught off guard for a minute before he catches himself.
"Iwa-chan is just my best-" He stops when he realises that he's echoing me. "He's my- We're... We're just best friends."
"That's bullshit," I quote him, earning an irritated expression. Oikawa shakes off his irritation and hops onto the sofa next to me.
"When did you realise?" He asks. I don't ask what he means. I'd have to be a fool not to. 'When did you realise-' that you were in love with him? That's what he means. We're both hopelessly in love with people who will never love us back- although I saw the way that Iwaizumi looked at Oikawa. We're both hopelessly in love but I'm the only one suffering with unrequited love.
"Second year of high school," I answer, hiding my face behind my console.
"What happened?" He asks a lot of questions, this one, doesn't he?
"I didn't want him to leave at the end of the year. He would be leaving and moving away to university and leaving me behind. I thought it was selfish of me to want him to stay behind... to stay with me. What right did I have to ask him to stay behind for me, I'm just his best friend. Then I realised that I didn't want to be just his best friend. I wanted him to come home to me every weekend, I didn't want him flirting with college girls. I got jealous at the idea of him getting a girlfriend. My discord friends told me that I was in love with him. That's when I realised." I sigh and look over the screen at Oikawa. He's nearly in tears. "Why are you crying?"
