"You ready kiddo?" My father asks me as we finally arrive at the school he teaches at. He has been teaching at this french academy for almost 10 years. It's a college school for boys only, so I think it will pretty much be weird for a girl to be living among them, and smelly.
The car comes to a slow stop and he shuts off the engine. We both hop out of the car and as soon as I step foot on the concrete floor, I feel eyes following my every move. My father grabs my luggage for me as I see two people walk out the door.
One of them is an older-looking lady and another is a man who looks like he just started his college career. "You must be Holly. Your father has told us so much about you. I'm Jenna, the headmistress and this is my son Conner. He just started here," The lady says with a kind smile.
I return it with one of my own and look back to my dad who gives her a nod and a smile. "Jenna, it's good to see you again," My father greets the lady then turns back to face me. "Let's get you settled in," He says and ushers me inside along with my luggage.
We enter the hallway and saying that it's big would be an understatement. This place looks like a palace for like princesses and stuff. Boys with uniforms stroll along in the hallway, stopping their conversations to take a quick look at me. I try to avoid all of their gazes as much as possible.
We enter a fancy-looking elevator and my dad clicks the 5th floor. "Holly, this is the dorm rooms building. The building right next to this one is the school's campus. This is where every student stays while attending Sang Royal Academy," My dad says and I just nod in response.
I knew my dad was the headmaster of a college school, but I didn't know that he taught here. Sang Royal Academy is probably one of the most prestigious schools that anyone can go to. I've heard that it's really hard to get in since the majority of the students who attend here either have rich parents or have powerful ones. Even though there really isn't a difference between money and power. In a way, they both are basically the same thing.
People strive to have money because those who are rich are the most respected in the world. Or, at least in our world.
The elevator door dings, signaling that we have made it to what I assume is the floor that I will be staying on. The doors open and I follow my dad out the doors along with Jenna and her son Connor. He's a quiet boy, but I think we will make great friends. At least I hope so.
There is a long hallway with a bunch of doors lined up along the walls. We stop at the first door to the right and my dad brings out a key card to unlock the door. "Alright kiddo, this will be your room. My room is right across from yours, so if you need anything just call me,"
My eyes widen as I step foot inside of it. There is a floor-to-ceiling window by the corner of the wall with white curtains. The queen-sized bed is placed in the middle of the room with a fancy headboard and a bedside table with a little lamp on it. The door next to the bed is a walk-in closet and the other door is a bathroom. The walls are a rose gold color that fits with the aesthetic of the room perfectly.
"You are welcomed to change the room if you want to," Jenna says with a sweet smile.
"I love it," I say breathlessly as I walk inside. I really do. The room is not too big to the point where I would feel lonely but it's not too small to the point where I feel like I can't breathe. "Thank you," I say as I run to hug my dad around his torso. He wraps his arms around my back and kisses the top of my head.
"Why don't you get settled in and meet me in the student lounge once you're finished?" He asks and I nod my head. With a smile, he and Jenna walk out of the room which leaves Connor and me.
