28. Brunch

OCEAN'S POV

After Nads' wedding everything went back to normal, Kendrick busy with work, me helping my Dad manage and tend to patients on our hospital and feeling a bit sad about leaving, because as each day pass I can feel the days of Kendrick and I being together is slowly slipping away.

This week up until the day of my flight Kendrick decided to file a leave, so that we can spend more time together kahit kasi nagkikita kami sa gabi para kumain ay hindi namin masyadong namamaximize and time ng isat-isa dahil parehas kaming pagod sa maghapong trabaho.

"Let's try the Harbor View restaurant." Sabi ko kay Kendrick habang nagppaatuloy sa pagtingin ng menu at services na inoooffer ng restaurant na nakita ko. He just nodded and continued driving. At dahil nga gabi na masyadong masikip ang kalsada dahilan para mastuck kami sa traffic.

"Love," Pagkuha ko sa atensyon ni Kendrick. "You know, when I saw Irina and bumped into her at the mall, I saw something." At dahil nga nakatigil lang kami at napatingin sya saakin gamit ang nagtatanong na mga mata.

"She's regretting what she did to us years ago. I saw that through her, the way sh looked at me with conscience I saw so many questions and guilt. But you know what she's so beautiful too." I said with a smile, kahit naman kasi ganoon ang nangyari noon at ginawa ni Irina dati I'm sure she has reasons and those reasons blinded her to do something so greedy and selfish like that, although I wont lie that I did not got mad at her, as a teenager back then I was also naive and still discovering so many possibilities and conflicts into so many circumstance I might encounter and be with.

"Yes baby, she's beautiful too. But she's not you.I know that you have that beautiful hearh and soul of glooming with love and kindness and you want to always see the good in every person even if they are judged and known by many people by their negative doings, it's just that we live in a very harsh reality with very harsh and greedy people, that even no matter how much you give them chances to be good to every people they can't. You must not tolerate people hurting you and still smile like they did not scar you real bad in the past, Ocean Aquiesha." Kendrick sighed and tighted his hold on my hand near the gear of his car.

"We have a brunch to attend to scheduled by my parents tomorrow, and then on dinner time sa inyo naman." Sabi ko kay Kendrick habang hinihiwa ang inorder kong beef espiniola.

He just nodded and continued eating. Our schedule is already packed for the whole week, we are planning to go on a roadtrip on the weekend, and the just rest the remaining days before my flight. I need to pack the stuffs that I need.

Our evening was just full of small talks, just like before we are still on the process of learning and knowing each other more, because many have changed through the years.

After our dinner I ask Kendrick to stop by the mall near  the restaurant, I just need to buy new cleanser for my face dahil naubusan na ako. Pagpasok namin sa Watsons ay binati agad kami ng mga saleslady, I just smiled at them too, before getting my own basket. Their eyes are practically glued to the man beside me who is looking around lazily.

Sobrang daming sale sa Watsons kaya naman ang sinabi kong 'cleanser lang' ay nauwi sa isang malaking paperbag, kung ano-anonng essentials ang kinuha ko at binili, may mga gusto kong itry na makeup at iba namang pagiisipan ko pa kung saan ko gagamitin.

"I didn't know you scam yourself too." Natatawang sabi ni Kendrick saakin habang naglalakad kami pasakay sa escalator ng mall, I just rolled my eyes at him and held his arms. Nakatupi ang longsleeve nya hanggang siko kaya naman nakalabas at kita ang manipis na balahibo nya sa braso.

"Babe stop." Saway nya saakin ng parang batang paikut-ikutin ko ang dulo ng daliri ko sa balahibo ng braso nya dahilan para makabuo ako ng nakatirik na mga balahibo.
