11. Her illness

KENDRICK'S POV

"Where's Ocean?"

"Nadine? Kendrick?" Tito Alex looked at me worriedly.

"Tito si Ocean...." iyak ni Nadine halatang nagaalala sa kaibigan.

"Tito masakit daw po yung puson nya. Sobrang sakit daw po, nawalan po sya ng malay."

Binigyan lang niya ako ng tapik sa balikat bago pumunta dumiretso sa ER. He just signalled something and 5 nurses including my mother came to him.

Maya-maya pa ay nagdatingan na ang mga kapatid ni Ocean.

"What happened?" Tita Atlanna asked me,looking worried sick. Hindi ako makasagot dahil puno ng pagalala at pangamba sa nangyari kay Ocean ang nasa isip ko.

"Magiging okay din sya. Si Aquie pa!" Lake smiled warmly at me.

Maya-maya para ay lumabas na si Tito Alex kasama ang dalawang doctor na babae.

"Goodafternoon. We run some tests on Ms. Alegre, and we found out that she has Polycystic Ovary Syndrome or PCOS, the too pain she's experiencing was the most common sign of PCOS. As of now the patient is still unconscious so we can't ask her yet what she's feeling everytime she has a period." Mahabang paliwanag ng Doctor. Tita Atlanna started shedding tears of what she have heard.

"Magagamot naman yung PCOS diba? Doc?" I desperately asked. She just smiled a bit at me.

"It depends, if her body will take in the medications well then the medications will solve it, but if her body rejects the medications she needs to undergo a surgery to remove sa cysts around her ovaries."

"It will be hard for her to bear a child right?" Tita Atlanna said while crying. The doctor smiled sadly at her. "Yes, Mrs. Alegre, it will be hard for her to bear a child, or worst she will not bear a child."

Para akong nanghina sa kalagayan ni Ocean, naalala ko ang sinabi nya saakin.

"I want two children with you a boy and a girl."

"My baby..." Tita Atlanna burst out to tears, Tito Alex just hugged and comforted her. "She can do it. She's strong. She's our Ocean Aquiesha."

"Hey? Wanna talk?" Wave suddenly snapped at me. Umupo ako sa hagdan ng fire exit kung saan nya ako dinala.

"Do you still love her? Kahit may sakit sya?" Biglang tanong ni Wave saakin, nilingon nya ako at ngumiti ng malungkot.

"To be a mother,is the greatest dream for her." Sinabi nyang muli.

"Kung dahil sa sakit nya ay bibitawan mo sya, gawin mo na ngayon palang..." seryosong sabi nya na nagpagulat saakin. "It's not her illness, that make her less of a person Wave. So, no. Hindi ko bibitawan ang kapatid mo dahil lang sa nalaman ko." I told him before storming out of the fire exit. Dumiretso na ako sa VIP ward kung saan sya nakaconfine.

There I saw the woman who always take my breath away, very pale looking and unconscious. Humila ako ng upuan at itinabi iyon sa higaan nya. I held her hand and close my eyes to pray.

Please keep her safe, I don't know what I'd do without her. Please heal her with your grace. I'm pleading with my soul open.

Hindi ko namalayang umiiyak na pala ako, napamulat ko ng maramdaman ang haplos ni Ocean sa mga pisngi ko.

"Thank God! You're awake!" I exclaimed happily as I hugged her and kissed her head. "What happened?" Nanghihinang tanong niya saakin. "You passed out. Are you now feeling well?" She just nodded at me and closed her eyes.
