Laura
"Wow, that was good." I say in surprise before letting out a content sigh as I lean back in my seat after finishing off the rest of my meal. The food was a lot better than I thought it was going to be.
Ross gives a cocky smirk. "See? I said you would like it." He wipes his mouth with a napkin, and I take the time to study him, really study him. His multiple piercings look very intimidating at first glance, but now I can see how they seem to complement his face, but without them I'm sure he would still look good. More approachable for sure with his boyish good looks and his sandy blonde hair that's a little shaggy with the ends curling above his ears. His shoulders are strong and wide, and his tattoos look like thin black vines crawling up his arms and across his upper chest with a mixture of pictures scattered here and there. I can't really make out what they are, one looks like a hockey stick another one looks like a music note maybe.
Looking at his face, I see a small scar on his right cheek and below his temple that is barely noticeable on his golden tan skin. It must be an old one.
"I don't like to be stared at." He said harshly but smiles a little at the end.
"S-Sorry." I blush and look down. Thankfully Molly comes over to hand us the check. I reach for it just as Ross reaches for it too. I look up at him then and frown.
"No." I say sternly.
"Laura-"
"No. This is what we're here for remember." I remind him and take the check before he can say anything more. I get out my wallet from my purse and hand Molly the money, making sure to leave a generous tip. "No change." I smile at her.
"You should bring her here more often." She teases, looking over at Ross. He just shrugs as he stands up, putting his hoodie back on. "We'll see."
"Have a good night you two." She winks at us one more time before walking away. Ross shakes his head, and we walk out of the diner and back to his car.
"Where to now?" I ask as I fasten my seatbelt.
"I've got a few ideas." He smiles secretly before pulling out of the parking spot.
"None of them include getting me killed right?" I half joke.
"Maybe." He shrugs. "Depends on if we get caught or not." I'm not sure if he is kidding or not, and that kind of frightens me. "And where is one of these places you're taking me to?" I ask him wearily.
"You really have to know everything that is going on, don't you?" He asks, glancing at me.
"Yeah....I like to..."
"Control everything?" He interrupts and I stay quiet. I know he is right, but I can't help it, that's just the way I am. I need to have control over certain aspects of my life.
"Well, I'm not telling you until we get there.... Which will only be in about five minutes." He says, and I sit back in the leather seat of his car and try to relax. "What kind of car is this?" I ask, needing a distraction from not knowing where we were going.
"It's a nineteen-seventy, ford mustang, a classic." He boasts, obviously very proud of his car. He goes on to tell me everything about it even though I have no idea what he's talking about. I just like to watch his lips move as he talks, the way they move slowly as the words come out.
"We're here." He says, snapping me out of my trance. I look around to see we're in a public park with an ice rink that has a beautiful water fountain right at the edge of it. This one was different from the one where Holly, Rachel, Mel and I were at yesterday. I'm surprised to see that there aren't any people around, considering that it was still somewhat early. I'm a little nervous seeing how we are the only ones here.
