Sebastian Smythe isn't who he says he is. He is keeping a big secret from everyone. He isn't truly a jerk to everyone, it's just the personality he decided to take while running away from his past as he doesn't want anyone to find out.

Ariel walks out of the rehearsal room after Puck's weird performance of 'Hot for teacher'. Santana and Brittany walk up to her, walking either side of her as she swings her bag onto her back. "So, what's gotten you in a perkier mood than normal?" Santana asks her.
"What are you talking about? Am I not always this perky?" Ariel asks.
"I'm not saying that. It's just... you've got this thing going on. Call it my Mexican third eye or something but something is going on with you and I intend to find out what it is," Santana says.
"Well, you've got this clearly misjudged. There's nothing going on with me. And believe me, you'd be the first to know about it," Ariel tells her.
"Well, now to what I really wanted to talk about. Come and join the toubletones with Brittany and I. You hide in the shadows too much in Glee. You need to let yourself shine." Santana says.
"'Tana. As much as I love you girls, I just want to stick with my brothers. It's their final year and I want to spend as much time with them. Besides, it's always a joy to fight Rachel Berry for those solos." Ariel says.
"Well, can't argue there. But, we will get you to join us. Sooner or later, you'll be one of us," Santana says, making Ariel shake her head, walking away from the two other Cheerio's.

"... then I know everything is gonna be fine. Because you're mine..." Ariel sings. "You shine..."
The room bursts into applause as the song finishes. Blaine pulls Ariel into a hug. "Well done Ariel," Mr Schue begins. "What made you decide to sing that?"
"Uh, well, with what's happened with my dad, it's kinda for him. But it's also something for my older brother. To remember to never give up, even if life throws everything at you," Ariel tells her. Kurt smiles at her before getting up from his seat and going to give her a hug.
"Although I have to agree that the song was good, you have to remember that that play is highly prominent on death and has been banned from many schools across the country." Rachel speaks up, making Ariel turn to look at Rachel, giving her a look of disbelief.

"Well, ignoring Rachel, that was beautiful Ariel. Thank you," Kurt tells his sister, making her smile at him.
"You're welcome. And now we'd better get home. Dad says he wants us home immediately and I want to go now before we get caught in traffic." Ariel tells her brother, grabbing her bag and walking out of the room with Kurt and Blaine following.

That evening, Ariel sits on her bed, sweatpants and a loose top covering her, doing her homework. Music plays softly in the background from her phone before it's cut off by her phone ringing. She reaches over to her beside unit, seeing Sebastian's name flashing across the top of the screen.
