4x04 The Break-Up

A lot has happened at McKinley High within the past 2 weeks. Brittany got kicked off the Cheerios and Sue Sylvester was pestering Ariel to join to be the captain. Blaine ran for senior president against Brittany and won. Ariel has been hanging with Sebastian more and she has gotten to know Marley very well. Abigail has started falling in love with someone but doesn't know how to tell them. Ariel has also been back and forth between Nashville and Ohio for two weeks as Scott has been waiting for meetings with her about her album and what songs she wanted as her next singles. It was a lot to go through in 2 weeks but she managed to get it all sorted out.

It was Tuesday when she finally managed to get back to school and as she was walking down the corridor to Glee club she saw a lot of people walk in so she ran down the hallway just so that she wasn't late for Glee Club. Just as she walks through the door, she looks up to see who isn't here yet and she sees someone that she hasn't seen since the start of the summer. "Finn!" Ariel exclaims before running up to him. Finn catches Ariel just as she throws herself at him and he spins her around before putting her down. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm just passing through, visiting Mum and Burt," Finn says. "I got here yesterday but they said that you weren't in Ohio."

"Yeah. I got back late last night and decided to stay with Sebastian as his house is closer to the airport than ours," Ariel says.

"Where've you been?" Finn asks.

"Nashville," Ariel says. "I had things to do over there so I haven't been at school much for the past 2 weeks. Did anything important happen yesterday?"

"Nothing important except for the fact that we are doing Grease as the fall musical," Finn says while getting ready for Ariel's response.

Ariel starts squealing before saying "I love Grease. How did you convince Mr Schue to do Grease?"

"I explained what it was about and pointed out that I did it as my song for my audition for Glee," Finn says.

"I love you so much. I can't believe that you are here," Ariel says before pulling Finn to the seat next to her. "So, who are you thinking about auditioning for?" Ariel asks Marley.

"Sandy. I love her and think I have the personality to play her," Marley says. "Who do you want to be?"

"I was thinking about auditioning for Sandy but I think I might audition for Rizzo or one of the other pink ladies," Ariel says before turning to Abigail and saying "What about you?"

"I would love to play one of the pink ladies," Abigail says. "It's only because I know that they don't have a lot of time on stage and a lot of speaking lines and I don't like being in the spotlight. I would rather stay at the back and not do a lot."

"So where have you been for the past few weeks?" Marley asks Ariel.

"I will tell you both later. I can't say with everyone else around. Abigail already knows but Marley you have to promise me that you won't tell anyone. Not a single soul," Ariel says.

"I promise you I won't tell anyone," Marley says.

"Okay. Meet me in the auditorium at lunch and I will tell you," Ariel says before leaving the choir room.

That lunch, Ariel is waiting on the stage in the auditorium for Marley and Abigail. "Hey," Marley says while she walks up onto the stage.

"Hey. I'm just waiting for Abigail to come," Ariel says but just as she says it, Abigail walks in and Ariel continues. "Speak of the devil."

"So you said that you would tell me where you were for the past few weeks," Marley says.

"Yes. Just sit down before I tell you," Airel says before all three of them sit on the floor. "So I have been in Nashville for the past few weeks but I have been going back and forth between here and Nashville as I still have school."

"Why have you been in Nashville?" Marley says.

"So, as I said, Abigail already knows this. So over the Valentine's weekend earlier this year, my boyfriend and some of his glee club took me to Nashville as there is a record company that I wanted to see so they took me there and I ended up getting a record deal while I was there," Ariel explains.

"That's so exciting," Marley says. "That still doesn't explain it though."

"If you would let me finish," Ariel says.

"Sorry," Marley says. "Continue."

"I had my first single come out over the summer which I was stressing over and still am as it is still climbing the country charts but it hasn't reached the Billboard top 100 yet which I am hoping that it will," Ariel says. "So I've been back and forth between here and Nashville because I've got my debut album coming out soon and my manager wanted to talk to me about what other songs I wanted to be released as singles as well."

"That's exciting. What song did you release?" Marley says.

"Tim McGraw," Ariel says.

"That was you. I love that song," Marley says.

"You have never heard her sing solo have you," Abigail asks Marley.

"No, I haven't. That might be why I didn't realise that it was you. But that doesn't explain why the name is put as Ariel Owens. Not Ariel Hummel," Marley says.

"I wanted to change it. I didn't want people to know me as my brother's little sister when he makes it so I wanted to have my name," Ariel says.
