Once Lily and Cassy made their way to Chris' room they noticed the door wide open. Hoping that no outsider had made their way inside, they nervously ran in. But to their surprise the only person in the room other than Chris was Noah.
"Noah!" Cassy said out loud with a rather relieved tone.
She noticed the unconscious Chris on the bed and could only assume that Noah helped him. After letting out a deep sigh of relief, Cassy ran into Noah's arms.
His embrace was something she longed for since they separated. Like two souls who were incomplete without each other, finally connecting again.
"What are you doing here?" Cassy pulled away.
Noah could only smile to the sight of her. He knew she'd dislike the truthful response to that question so to avoid it he placed his hand on her cheek and admired her beauty.
The smile on Cassy's face was slowly disappearing though. Knowing what Noah could've done, gave her the impression that he did something not so good.
"Noah. What are you doing here?" She asked again. This time more serious.
He chuckled and acted oblivious. But he dropped the act real quick when he noticed her face not changing. He gulped and let go of her to prepare his escape.
"I stalked you from afar."
Silence.
Cassy blinked and smiled. Not believing what she just heard.
"You did what now?"
Noah knew what he did was wrong. But after Chris got on the loose he felt uneasy leaving Cassy all alone. To not disturb her, he decided to watch her from afar, hoping to catch Chris if he decided to appear in front of her again.
He had failed to do that when Cassy took him in to the hotel. So the only thing he could do was see where she'd take him. Once she was gone, Noah was going to go in and tell Chris to leave and go back to his own world.
Before he could respond to Cassy's question again, Chris started coughing.
The first one to react was Lily, who had kept her eyes on him since they entered. She gasped and looked around in stress, trying to find a water bottle.
Cassy did the same second after and checked the mini refrigerator the room had. Inside was cold drinks, including water bottles.
She grabbed one and sat at the edge of the bed. Once he opened his eyes she made sure to nudge his arm to get his attention.
"Chris, can you see me?" She tried to make him look at her by having him follow her voice.
He most likely fainted due to exhaustion. While she was grabbing his attention, Noah snuck to get a small towel. He came back and gave it to Cassy. With it she poured some water on it and wiped off the sweat that was all over his face and neck.
But the only thing pouring all over Noah was jealousy. The sight of her touching another man was an eyesore but he had to surpass it to not get on her bad side.
He knew that no matter how annoying Chris had been towards Cassy, her heart was too good to leave anyone in danger alone. Even if it was an enemy.
"His dad came by before." She suddenly said, keeping a low tone.
"He told me to take good care of Chris and to not let him return for awhile so he can get a decent about of rest."
"But why are you given that task? You're not his mother. It's not your responsibility to take care of him. He's an adult." Noah instantly argued back.
Not only was he jealous enough with the situation. But now he'd have to see them together everyday?
"Noah. I'm not gonna become a mother figure to him. Considering the fact that he tried to marry me, it sounds weird." She responded back and turned her head to look at him.
Her eyes were looking at him very seriously. Almost like a dog owner telling their dog to not act ridiculous.
Noah opened his mouth to say something back but couldn't and dropped his head down to the floor with an annoyed frown.
"What's going on?" Chris' raspy voice interrupted their conversation, his eyes squinting from the bright light hitting his face.
"Chri-"
"Am I in heaven?"
Some of Cassy's worries washed away thanks to Chris' comment.
"No silly. You're-"
"You're in hell." Noah said, cutting off Cassy.
It might've been childish of him to act this way but he couldn't help it when he saw Cassy giving her attention to him.
"You're in hell, and this is all just an illusion- OUCH!"
Cassy stood up and flicked his forehead, frowning at him. Without saying anything else she turned around and sat down again, placing her hand on Chris's forehead to which he closed his eyes and let her warmth calm his senses.
The scene was peaceful, something none of them had felt in a long time. It felt oddly nice.
"Are you feeling better?" Cassy asked in a gentle voice. Her voice and the touch of her hand was something Chris would only get to experience this one time. Her gestures were rare and he wanted it to stay like this forever.
Sadly for him, she stood up and grabbed the towel.
"I''m gonna pour the water into a bowl instead."
Once she stood in the bathroom Chris decided to annoy Noah by opening his eyes and give him a proud smirk.
Something in Noah almost exploded but right as he was gonna move forwards and grab Chris's collar, Lily went between them and shook her head to Noah. Then turned around and did the same to Chris.
Both men pouted and looked to different directions to avoid each other's gaze.
Lily had just been standing by the nightstand this whole time and while Cassy wasn't present, she'd be in charge. Of course she made that up herself.
"You boys fight like little kids. Cassy hates it when men don't behave like they should. In fact, she wouldn't even bat an eye on a guy like that so their existence would be nonexistent to her."
Lily's words were taken more seriously than she had anticipated. The looks on their faces were priceless and the moment Cassy was back, the two men could be seen sitting up with straight backs and serious face expressions. Not wanting to look like fools for her.
Cassy had no idea what was going on and could only look at Lily to get answers.
Lily shrugged her shoulders with an innocent smile.
"Cassy. Do I look mature and manly?" Noah asked, his face never changing.
She couldn't guess what they were doing but seeing their unusual looks made her burst into laughter.
"Just what did Lily tell you guys. This is hilarious." She spoke between chuckles and pinched Lily's cheek as punishment.
"Lay down Chris, stop fooling around and Noah, you always look manly to me."
At the end, Noah got the compliment, leaving Chris feeling defeated.
When she was done taking care of him, she told him to just stay here for the night and not go anywhere I'd he'd be in serious problems.
She had been gone for far too long but thankfully it was time for her shift to end.
She left the room with Lily and Noah and wished Chris a good nights rest. When they were outside, Cassy planned on staying in the room right next to him so he wouldn't be all alone at the hotel.
Noah looked at her and grabbed her hand.
"I'm staying with you tonight."
