We arrived at the museum, and it reminded me of a colosseum. It was a big brown building with white pillars attached in the front. A write triangular roof was attached to the top of the pillars.
In the middle of the building, there was a giant globe with the words, "WORLD HISTORY MUSEUM" in big black letters.
Hmm. This might actually be fun.
The teacher let us sit down for lunch, and I sat on the grass with Lia and Sam.
I pulled out my purple lunch bag and started eating my chicken sandwich. "
"So", I said through a mouthful of food. "Let's hope we get paired in a group together."Lia nodded. "Yep! And we better not have Onyx in our group."
Sam nodded in agreement.
"Guys. Maybe we shouldn't judge her so quickly. You don't even know her." I said.
Lia rolled her eyes. "Whatever, Ken. C'mon. Let's go to the bathroom."
We went to the bathroom, though I don't know why.
Lia and Sam stood in front of the mirror.
Now, to describe my friends: Lia is Korean. She has long dark hair that she often curled. She was pretty tall, and has brown eyes.
Sam is Guatemalan. She has shoulder-length red hair that was always messy, even when she brushed it. She was pretty tall as well. And she had brown eyes.
My friends stood in front of the mirror and fixed themselves up.
I stood at the mirror next to them and adjusted my headband. It had fallen off while I was asleep.
I turned to Lia and Sam. "C'mon guys. Let's find our class."
We asked out of the bathroom and found our class inside the museum.
It looked like they were getting into groups now.
I heard the teacher say, "Lia, Sam, Jamie, and Alejandro. You will go with Mrs. Peters."
My friends gave me sad looks and went to stand with their group.
I turned my attention back to the teacher.
"And our final group: Hannah, Josie, Onyx, and Kendra. You will not have a chaperone, but I trust you will make good choices."
I didn't know how to feel about my group.
None of us really knew each other. I knew that Hannah was the captain of the girls' softball and volleyball team.
Josie was in theater. And Onyx, well, she never participated in school things.
This should be an interesting day, I thought.
I went to stand with my group.
