Fun With a Dinosaur

The Ottoman Empire was definitely more interesting than the Roman Empire. There were depictions of soldiers and horses and what I think were knights on the walls. There were pictures of sultans as well. "You know, that picture of a sultan kind of reminds me of Aladdin", Josie said.  I laughed. After we looked at the exhibit some more, we went back to the map. "Oooh", I said. "Let's go to the dinosaur area!"

Hannah smiled. "Finally. A FUN area!" Onyx rolled her eyes. "The whole time we were here was FUN. Now let's go."
We ran to the dinosaur exhibit and squeezed through the crowd to get to the front. There was a giant T-Rex skeleton on display.There were some other dinosaur skeletons as well. The whole exhibit was decorated like a jungle. It had leaves around the skeletons and hanging on the ceiling. There were some fake trees planted as well.

"Now I understand why this exhibit is always crowded. This is amazing!" I said to Onyx. "Yeah", she agreed. "Look over there!" She pointed to two sets of VR goggles that were attached to a stand. Above the stand was a sign that said, "DINOSAUR SIMULATOR". Let's try that!"
 
Onyx and I ran over to the VR thingy. I sat in the seat and my Filipino group mate sat in the other one. I put on the goggles and suddenly I was in the jungle and had tiny arms. I got up from the chair and ran in place. Now, T-Rex me was running. Then, I became a pterodactyl soaring over the clouds. I took off the goggles to give Hannah a turn. Onyx gave the other pair to Josie and we watched them enjoy the simulator. "I wish they made all the exhibits like this", I told Onyx. "Yeah. But it would cost a lot of money."

Hannah and Josie took off their goggles and walked over to where we were standing. "That was awesome!" Hannah pumped her fist in the air. "Yeah," I laughed, "This has to be the best exhibit yet. Now let's find another one." I followed the group to the map and studied it. "Let's check out the butterfly exhibit! That should be fun." Said Josie. We followed her to the exhibit.
 
The butterfly exhibit was a beautiful sight. It was a large dome decorated with fake monarch butterflies. Vines hung from the ceiling and on the walls, and there were some caterpillars in their cocoons. I nudged Hannah. "Let's go watch the caterpillar break from its cocoon!" She nodded eagerly and we went over to the insects, with Onyx and Josie behind us.
   "Now," the museum docent said. "Please stay quiet and don't take any pictures of the caterpillars." Everyone gathered around the clear container to see the small insects hanging from the top. Nothing happened so far.A few moments later, one of the cocoons opened and out popped a beautiful monarch butterfly. Then, another cocoon opened, and out popped another butterfly. Then another. Then another. It was amazing seeing this happen so up close. After I bought a stuffed butterfly with the money I brought, the group and I headed away from the exhibit. Josie turned to us. "So, where to now?" I shrugged. "Let's just walk around until we find something."
  
We walked and talked for ages, then we finally found something. It was a big vacant area called the pirate exhibit.
