We climbed aboard the Royal Fortune.

The pirates let us tour the thing, and there was nothing royal nor fortunate about this ship.

There was mold everywhere, and it smelled like mildew.

In the corner, there were multiple treasure chests filled with gold and what I'm praying is food.

Man, I guess pirates collected ANYTHING. I wandered towards the stairs and as soon as I stepped on the first stair, my foot made a hole.

I yelped in pain and disgust. "Um hello? I'm kinda stuck in the stairs here. HELP ME!"

Josie quickly came to me and helped me out. When I stepped out of the hole, I peeked inside it to see what was so gross in there.

There were maggots. Squirming everywhere. I felt sick to my stomach.

"Oh my god. T-those things, they were.... were inside the hole. With my FOOT!" I spluttered.

I looked at Josie, and it looked like she was going to faint. "Well, you're okay now. So I'm gonna go before I barf."

She ran away. I couldn't blame her. The sight was revolting.

Anyway, I backed away from the stairs and checked out another area of the ship: the kitchen.

It took me a while to realize that this place was a kitchen.

There were dead fish and other specimens of the sea everywhere. It smelled rotten.

How could pirates live like this?

Hopefully, the area upstairs is better, though I highly doubt it, I thought.

Reluctantly, I made my way over to the stairs and trudged up them, watching my step VERY carefully.

I honestly didn't know what I was expecting when I arrived upstairs, but what I just saw definitely wasn't it.

The upstairs area was a big hallway with a bunch of rooms. The floor was hardwood with many termite holes. I wandered into the rooms.

They pretty much looked the same: one bed, one nasty bathroom, a nightstand, and a small plastic treasure chest atop of it.

I didn't even bother checking out the beds. I had been pushed to my gross limits way too many times today.

Anyways, I finally came across one final room: the captain's quarters.

As I examined the lock on the door, my group mates came up behind me. "Kendra?? You've been staring at this door for a while. Are you thinking about something?" Onyx asked.

I blinked and turned to my friends. "Oh. I was just checking it out and figuring out how to get this lock off the door." I pointed to the lock on the doorknob.

Onyx smirked. "I'll go in."
