Sickening Discoveries

  I floated through the door of the captain's quarters. The first thing I noticed was the stench. My gosh it was disgusting.

It smelled of body odor and something... dead?

Whatever it was, it wasn't pleasant. The room itself was also not pleasing.

It had cream colored wallpaper but it was peeling off from all the many decades it had been sitting.

I searched the room and there was a lot of strange stuff in here.

There were stuffed parrots and multiple rotting treasure chests. I lifted the lid off one of them but it was vacant.

The smell of the room still didn't go away. I tried to find the source of it. I walked around until I went into a closet.

I opened it and immediately wished I hadn't. I screamed at the sight: dead human bodies inside a glass tube.

I jumped back and crouched low to the ground, as if expecting them to open their eyes and crawl out of their tubes and start attacking me.

"These pirates just get more and more disturbing, huh?" I muttered to myself.
 
Then, I heard my group pounding on the door.

I floated over to it. Their voices muffled, they were asking what was wrong. I unlocked the door and the others burst in, Josie almost falling into me mid-knock.

I let them take in the sights of the room, which gave them disgusted looks. "This is gross," commented Hannah.

  "Yeah... what is WRONG with these pirates?" murmured Kendra.
 

Josie held her hand over her mouth like she was about to barf. She didn't say anything, probably worried that as soon as she opened her mouth puke would come out.

I scoffed. "This isn't even the worst part. Follow me," I told them.
 

They trailed my floating body as I lead them to my wonderful discovery. They shrieked as they saw what I had found. Then, we heard footsteps.

Josie waved her hands in front of my face to get my attention. "Hide!" she exclaimed.
 

I nodded and floated under the bed, where I found a few disturbing mice. I hissed at them to find somewhere better to live.

They scampered off into the closet, which made me shiver. Kendra, Josie, and Hannah quickly got out of the room. I heard the pirates' voices, but I couldn't make out what they were saying. Then, I heard a deafening bang.
