• Can you do an imagine where Y/N and Nate are having problems with their marriage so he is staying at his parents and when Y/N brings their 2 year old daughter Ivey over to his parents so he can have her for the weekend they have a sort of talk that turns into a fight but then Nate says that he needs his wife and daughter back and they make up and he gives Y/N her rings back?
-- (Y/N's POV) --
My little two year old, beautiful, daughter waddles ahead of me to the front door. "Are you ready baby?" I ask, picking her up and setting her on my hip as I grab her diaper and over night bag.
"Daddy." She giggles, laying her head in the crook of my neck as I walk to the car. I strap her into her car seat and climb in afterwards, taking a deep breath to mentally prepare myself, I haven't seen my husband for two weeks now.
Our marriage has been on weak threads for the past three months, there's constant bickering and frustration - nothing too out of hand but it's been tiring. We agreed to take a short break, a few months at the most and so far it's been pretty peaceful but I've missed him like hell.
I've had his dad come pick Ivey up because I've been too emotional to see him, I'll break down if I do. But today is different. Looking down at my left hand on the sterling wheel, I pay close attention to the small indent on my ring finger where my rings used to be. I gave them back when he left, he wasn't too happy with the decision but agreed we needed it.
"Where daddy?" Ivey asks from the back, swinging her toy keys around in her hand - she's always had a obsession with toys that make a noise. That's not been so good for who ever is in the room with her, mostly me.
"We're gonna' see him soon princess, you missed him huh?" I reply, looking into the rear view mirror as I pull into McDonald's for our dinner.
"Yes." She replies, her smile brightening as she sees where we are.
--
"Ivey! Y/N!" Kami, Nate's Mom, coos as we walk through the front door. I giggle and hand my baby over to her, smiling as Ivey squeals for her grandma.
"Where is Nate?" I ask nervously, stuffing my hands in my coat pockets.
"He's in the back garden honey," she sadly smiles, leading me through the house to the kitchen. She sets Ivey on the floor and we carefully watch her as she waffles down the steps towards her uncle, aunt and Grandpa. "He's not been holding up so well Y/N, he's barely eating and he hasn't left the house. He's not doing good sweetie." She frowns, I sigh.
"I'm gonna' go see him," I mutter and walk out the back door, taking in a deep breath when I see Nate sitting on the porch swing. "Hi." I announce myself loud enough for him to hear, his head snaps in my direction.
He takes a deep breath in and sighs it out. "So this is what it's come to huh?" He drily chuckles.
"What?" I furrow my eyebrows and take a seat on the swing, the opposite side of where he sits.
"Y/N you're acting as if we don't know each other. What's this 'hi' shit?" He snaps. "No matter what has gone on between us, you're still my wife and I've known you for so many years, greet me how you normally would."
That snaps something inside of me. "Hello Nate, hello father of my baby, hello man who cheated on me and never even bothered to let me know." I yell.
His body tenses. "Y/N I thought we were passed that, this is what the break is about right?"
"Wrong Nate, you fucking cheated on me and now expect me to get over it like that! I'm your wife Nate, your fucking wife and the mother of our beautiful baby girl and you cut that down to a very slim thread for some slut you'll never see again in your life after you fucked her and left? Real smooth Nate." I scoff, standing up to face him.
"Y/N how many times do you want me to say sorry? I fucked up, I'll admit it for the millionth time since. I fucking adore you Y/N and that beautiful, precious baby girl in there is the other half of my world along side you! I can't live like this, I'm sick of not waking up to Ivey poking my cheek or screaming for chocolate milk at 7am in the morning. I miss not being able to have you in my arms and fall asleep, to wake up and watch you for a few minutes because I know you're at your happiest right there and then in your stress free dreams. Or listen to our daughter tell us how much she loves her Mommy and Daddy every five seconds of the day, I miss that so much!" It's then he breaks down, sobbing into his hands.
"Nate-"
"Daddy!" Ivey waddles over to us and frowns when she sees my flushed red face and Nate crying hysterically. "Mommy? What wong Daddy?" She pouts, her eyes begin to water as she runs over to Nate, almost tripping, and taps his leg.
"Baby." He cries, picking her up and sitting her on his lap to continue crying into her neck.
She pats his hair, shushing him. "Princess give us a min-"
"No, Y/N, we're gonna' work this out as a family. Ivey needs us together, she doesn't want to grow up to live between two houses. Please Y/N." Nate pleads, his watery hazel eyes staring at mine which broke my heart.
I sit down right beside him and kiss his cheek, putting my arm around his back. "I'm sorry for yelling." I rest my head on his shoulder and take a hold of Ivey's tiny chubby hand.
"Don't be, it's my fault." He shrugs.
"This is gonna' sound so pathetic and stupid but can we just forget about everything and carry on as normal? I'm sick of arguing and our little princess needs her king and queen." I grin at Ivey who has calmed down and has settled for staring at who ever is speaking.
"It doesn't sound pathetic or stupid, it sounds like the greatest thing I've ever heard for a few weeks. I need my beautiful wife and my beautiful baby girl back." He smiles, kissing Ivey before kissing me passionately. He slips something out of his pocket and grabs my left hand, grinning like a child on Christmas Day as he slides my engagement and wedding ring back onto my finger.
"Thank God." We hear Kami sigh from the doorway which makes us laugh.
