• Can you please do an imagine where you and nate had a kid but then you guys ended up getting a divorce and have take turns with having the kid like switching on and off every week.
-- (Y/N's POV) --
My heart still hurts at the thought of him, I can't bare it. "Mommy where's Daddy?" My dearest boy asks, his six year old body standing beside me in our new home.
"I told you bud." I weakly smile, ruffling his thick, brown, curly hair. He looks identical to Nate which always pains me, but I had to do this, we had to do this.
As ashamed as I am, I will admit to cheating on Nate a year ago. We tried to work through it, he acted like it didn't matter but there was still the sly comments here and there when we were with other guys. And when he was drinking was the worst, I never heard the last of it once he got going. So that's when we got the divorce, he didn't want to at first but then he realised it was for the best.
"But you never said where." Noah pouts, looking up at me with his hazel brown eyes.
"He's with uncle Sammy for a while." I answer, sitting him on my hip as the men carry the furniture into our new house.
--
It's been three days since we moved in, it's Friday afternoon and Nate is due any minute to come pick Noah up for the weekend stay. We agreed that I have him through the week days and he has him on the weekend.
The house is nice and clean, everything satisfies me and Noah loves his new room. The doorbell rings and Noah sprints down to answer, but he's too short so I open the door for him.
"Daddy!" Noah yells, running into Nate's open arms.
"Hey buddy, I've missed you." Nate chuckles, hugging him tightly. He picks him up and sits him on his arm, slowly looking up to meet my eyes.
"Hi." I awkwardly smile, opening the door wider for him to walk in.
"Don't." Is all he says as he does, setting Noah on his feet.
I stare at him confused and furrow my eyebrows when Nate tells Noah to go grab his stuff to sleep over. "Don't what?" I ask when Noah runs off, excited to show his dad his new backpack.
"Don't act like it's awkward between us, we've knew each other for years, we have a kid. Don't just say hi, greet me how you normally would." He sighs, rubbing his forehead.
"A hug and a kiss? Nate we're divorced if you forgotten," I scoff, crossing my arms. "It's the first time I've seen you as a single mom, sorry it's bound to be awkward for the first few visits."
He opens his mouth to reply, a pained expression on his face and hurt in his eyes, but Noah bounces down the stairs - yelling his ideal plans for the weekend ahead. I bend down and pick my son up, kissing his forehead. "Be a good boy for Daddy, I love you and I'll miss you but I'll see you on Sunday night. Got it?"
"Yeah Mommy, I love you too." He groans, I laugh and ruffle his hair before passing him over to my ex husband.
"Say goodbye bud." Nate smiles, admiring his son as he puts him on the floor and holds his hand.
"Goodbye Mommy." He smiles, waving at me as they walk to the front door.
"Bye Y/N, don't worry about him, he'll be fine I promise. I lov- bye." I can tell it hurt him. Heck, it hurt me too.
We still love each other but it wouldn't work out, maybe sometime in the future but for now it's for the best. He is so used to telling me he loves me, he told me every five minutes when we were together.
"Bye." I weakly smile, waving whilst holding back tears in my eyes.
Once the car drove off, I shut the door and slide down it, sobbing.
