Kai's POV
Sparks flew as I swung my hammer, beating the hot metal of a newly made sword. All I needed to do was straighten it out and cool it off. My sister Nya was arranging a few weapons in a corner. I looked at the hot sword carefully, making sure it was straight and ready to be cooled off. I took the sword off of the hot coals and unto an anvil.
"Look alright?" I asked, brushing my gloves on my apron.
Nya turned around and walked to the anvil. She tilted her head and squinted at it. "I think if you cool it off it should be good," she said.
I nodded. I carefully took the weapon off of the anvil to a small pool of water. I set the sword in the water for it to cool. I took off my gloves and set them on the anvil.
I sighed. "I miss our old team."
Nya walked over to me. "I miss them too. But you know that without Cole, Zane, and Jay, there is no team."
"Maybe there could be," I said.
Nya didn't respond. She walked back to her corner and continued organizing the weapons. It was almost sunset when I finished up the last weapon for today. I brushed my gloves out and put the back on the anvil. I saw something in the distance walking this way. I put my arm over my eyes to block out the sun to get a better look.
"Lloyd?" I whispered.
"Huh?" Nya looked in his direction.
"Lloyd!" I ran out of the blacksmith shop.
"Lloyd?" Nya's eyes widened.
"Kai!" Lloyd ran in my direction.
When we reached each other, I ran my fingers through his hair, messing it up.
Lloyd reached up and fixed his hair.
"What are you doing out here?" I asked.
"I need your help," Lloyd said.
"With what?" I asked.
"I'm going to try and get our team back together," he said, smiling.
