Chapter 31

"Have you seen Deacon?" I asked Lenon as he ushered me upstairs to get ready. Lenon looked uncomfortable as we made it to the top.

"What's wrong?" I asked worriedly. He avoided eye contact as he almost tried dragging me into the room.

"Deacon had a last minute work thing, he's getting ready at the location a little later." He finally spoke. I looked around the room to see Gracie hollering at these strangers who I assumed were going to be doing my
hair and makeup. I turned back to Lenon.

"Can you make sure he's okay. And tell him I love him." I asked nicely. Lenon smiled and nodded.

"Of course." He leaned in and wrapped his arms around me. I was surprised at his gesture, most wolves avoided touching me all together.

"Deep breaths, don't look at anyone els but Deacon." He whispered. I smiled and held him tight.

"No Lenon, no touching. She can't show up smelling like another male!" Gracie rushed to us, separating us. Lenon rolled his eyes and gave me a smirk before leaving.

"C'mon sit sit." Gracie pulled me into a chair. I let my mind run wild while these girls worked on me. I made sure to tell them natural with the makeup. And Gracie told them that Deacon had already spoke to her about wanting my hair down and as natural as possible.

I thought it was a tad funny that Deacon had a preference but then again I was willingly marrying a control freak. I had to push that scary thought aside. Deacon and I both have issues, I just hope that we can grow together as time goes on.

"Okay you have 15 minutes to go to the bathroom, eat and drink before we throw this dress on." Gracie informed me. Although Gracie was intense, I was extremely grateful that she was here to make sure everything happened accordingly.

"What exactly will I do up there? During the ceremony?" I asked her, standing from the hard chair. She smiled.

"Well I've never attended one, but the traditions sound very similar to a human wedding." Gracie tried her best answering.

"Our Beta will lead the ceremony." One of the hair girls spoke up. I turned to her curious. She almost looked like she regretted speaking up.

"Is there anything else you know?" I asked politely. She looked to her friend, the one that was also working on my hair. Why did these girls seem so apprehensive.

"After you verbally commit, Alpha Vidar has to bleed you into a bowl." She admitted. Gracie immediately snapped at her, getting ready to escort her out.

"No, stop. I want to hear." I reached for Gracie.

"Luna, you have nothing to fear. You don't need this pointless worry before you experience the greatest moment of your life." She tried reasoning. I ignored her.

"How will he bleed me?" I asked. The room fell even more silent if possible. The two young girls looked at each other then to Gracie.

"As your Luna I need an answer." I tried commanding in the politest way I could. This was the first time I had used my authority in this way. Gracie took a step away and allowed the girls to speak.

"Alpha Vidar makes the choice, he can bite you, or he has the option of a blade." She paused to let that sink in.

"The blade is the easy option. Alphas that use the blade on their mate are known to be weak. Our culture sees it as an easy way out." The other girl added.

"Why?" I was so curious that I hadn't even let the nerves set in knowing I had to endure this.

"The bite will burn." Gracie finished for them. She had her head down, I could tell she wanted to avoid this conversation with me.
