Chapter 18
I drove straight home after my uncomfortable encounter with Cornell. The peaceful car ride was short lived as I noticed the familiar vehicle parked in the driveway.
Butterfly's swirled my stomach knowing my mate was inside. Trying to ignore them, I took my time gathering my things and making my way inside.
I noticed boxes piled by the entryway. I set my things down and peered into one of the mysterious boxes.
My heart dropped when I noticed one of my old t-shirts, I dug deeper and found that the box was filled with my clothes.
"You're going to be staying with me." his deep voice rang through my ears. I glanced up and saw him standing at the foot of the stairs.
He wore a face I didn't recognize, a face that frightened me. He didn't care anymore. He wanted me, and he wasn't taking no for an answer.
My mind ran through the options I had, or what I could say to stop this. I could run away, but he'd find me, or another wolf with worse intentions would find me. I could go to the authorities, but they would either laugh or it would negatively affect my sister and her mate. I had no choice, nowhere to go, nothing to do.
Two unfamiliar men were walking down the stairs with more boxes of my things. I looked away and tried to calm my breathing as they awkwardly stacked the boxes beside me, obviously sensing my discomfort.
"Deacon please don't do this." I whispered. I couldn't even look him in the eyes. He took a couple steps forward, causing me to take a slow step back.
"We got a direct threat on you personally, just this morning. I'm done being nice, and letting you risk your life. You're coming home with me and that's final." he was using his Alpha voice causing me to cower slightly.
"This isn't love Deacon." I whispered. I snatched my bag from the floor and ran out of the house as fast as I could.
Fumbling with my keys, I quickly unlocked the car and opened the door. Before I could hop in the door was slammed shut. Deacon's tattooed hand was pressed to the car door in front of me.
I could feel my body shaking in fear and anger. I didn't want to turn around, I was afraid that his close proximity would cloud my mind.
He leaned into my back, pressing my body to the cold car. I fought off a shiver as his chest, stomach, and groin pressed against me.
"Dont ever run from me." he growled into my ear. I stayed silent, waiting for him to release me.
I felt his warm fingers graze my neck as he pushed my hair to one side. My body began to tremble from his touch. His affection felt different now that I wore his mark. The euphoria his touch gave me was almost unbearable.
"This is love Ellis. You will see." his breath tickled my skin. I tried pushing him away before he continued touching me. He reluctantly let me go.
He put his hand out as if waiting for me to give him something.
"keys." he deadpanned. I narrowed my eyes at him before handing over the car keys.
"I want you waiting in the truck until everything's packed." He walked me to his black pickup and opened the door.
I crawled in and kept my head down as he closed the door. It seemed like it took them just minutes to pack my whole life up and fit it into the back of Deacon's truck.
The drive to Deacons house was long and quiet. I kept my gaze out the window and Deacon kept his on the road.
As soon as we parked I let myself out of the truck and made my way inside, I could feel Deacon trailing behind me.
